The problem with the right-wing echo chamber, led by Hannity, Limbaugh, Malkin et al, and glowingly amplified and legitimized by Howie and his ilk, is that they are as young children, thoroughly, completely and blissfully unaware of anything connected to themselves personally.
It's therefore easy to take umbrage with "liberal" bloggers for their vehement, vulgar attacks, while at the same time being entirely unaware that they themselves (the right-wing echo chamber) created, refined and set all records for vulgarity and violent suggestions. IOKIYARWC (it's okay if you're a right-wing commentator), don't you know?
The real problem is not these people, per se, but the entire media culture which gives their views prominence and significance, while classifying the entire right/left debate as good/evil. In past history, these kind of polarized, elitist and depraved cultures suffered some sort of self-immolation, and it was only the complete and total dissolution of those societies which created a new starting place. My worry is that those are our only choices left: accepting the right-wing framing, or facing some sort of revolutionary catastrophe.
Where were Howie and his buddies when the wingnuts were expressing their death threats and rape fantasies to amanda marcotte, or the college kids from California, or the little girl who did the antichristianity rap on youtube? Or the time Olbermann got fake anthrax through the mail? Oh, that's right, Howie's buddies were aiding and abetting the guilty wingnuts! Idle comments from the too-tightly wound are newsworthy, but threatening communications and actions from the dregs of the right are not? maybe that's because the loons on the right are too much a part of the core audience to risk offending them.

Look, if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have an authoritarian proto-fascist movement which in the name of God and Country will subvert, dismantle, and destroy our democratic liberties and freedoms in order to establish some form of one-party (possibly totalitarian) rule. When I turned Limbaugh off this afternoon he was saying global warming is a hoax because horses cause more pollution than cars. No, really. Its being conjured up by Regnery - the Politically Incorrect Guide... series is some creepy, Orwellian, Hofstadter type paranoid authoritarian parallel version of The Complete Idiot's Guide. Yep. The Complete's Idiot Guide is "liberally biased." Just like Wikipedia, hence Conservapedia. Its conjured up on the House floor when James Inhofe, formerly chair of an environment committee, says that global warming is the second greatest hoax in US history; #1 is church state separation, according to he. Its conjured up when the RNC hires David Barton to tour the country and teach that church/state separation is a myth. Its conjured up when the President and his team say that Iraq has WMDs and ties to al Qaeda.

In a bold and unprecendented announcement, Microsoft Chief, Tourvald Hagestedt, said today that Howard Kurtz is actually a beta test of Microsoft's new Assbot artificial intelligence program.
Programed to parrot rightwing talking points, the Assbot promises to be a major profit center for Microsoft in today's political climate, where legitimate conservative talking points are becoming harder and harder to find.
In Washington, an unnamed senior administration official stated, "I'd rather be an Assbot than a Limbot, at least until I go home to Wyoming."
