On the other hand , if a man with a machine gun went into a women's studies group and opened fire, one could easily predict that x y and z would write endless reams about male hatred of women. It takes no insight, nor does it make Howard Kurtz predictatble or less credible to predict he, like many others, would be repelled by the advocacy of the assassination of Dick Cheney. The fact is that there is a strain of virulence in the anti-Bush movement that seems to equate him with the worst leaders of history, justifying extreme measures. These people of course either have no knowledge of history, or sense of proportion, or they simply have a disguised agenda nurtured since their pathetic college years as Marxist-Leninist fellow-travelling dopers, showing their college era empty heads have not developed into middle age.I think Howard Kurtz' critics can kiss his ass.
I frequently read the posts on many blogs and I sense that a lot of the more outrageous ones are actually put up by people who are on the other side of the issue, simply to make us liberals look bad. It's the same tactic that the Republic party does with there push pols and robo calls. Posing as the opposition and misrepresenting them so they can then attack it. Lying, cheating bastards that they are.
The right wing strategy for neutralizing that liberal value is the same strategy they used against Kerry and Gore. The venues where civil public discourse is taking place must be attacked, belittled, lied about and made to look like they are accomplishing the opposite of what they are in fact achieving.
Marfrks puts it very well in that post! Ideology creates its own reality, which is how they square the circle, how war becomes peace, freedom becomes slavery, ignorance becomes strength, and how liberal becomes evil!
or they simply have a disguised agenda nurtured since their pathetic college years as Marxist-Leninist fellow-travelling dopers, showing their college era empty heads have not developed into middle age.
You should change your handle to Don't Know Much About History
To keep a fever down; I ate tons of frozen bluberries. I still feel feverish. Does any one have vamooze.?! Or, some # Ten bottle of gin would suite fine to pour upon the frozen fruit. I will barter the berries for a pint?
We can all offer thanks. A gift like that will keep us happy for ever after? Who was that guy who said, "I drink because I think?" Or, we drink because the neocon's Dick Chain Gang gang stink? I forgot.
O, if they could only choose to do the wild Moondance with you/me, please? Hmnn. Bluberries nighty nighty.
Not sure if any of the "Kurtz Kritics" can smooch his ass as "A Clear Thinker" (??) suggests. Thinker is doing such a splendid job all by his/her lonesome.
Loser.
I think we can heal each other yet.
I say, we blend some apple and orange juice, lemon and limes, dry mustard and hot horseradish, marinate in clear vodka or clear gin for several hours in a saucepan. Baste the blueberries for 'us who get to feel like we just typing and singing the blues tunes all day.
Put the glistening flowers of the Holy Paprika in a mortar pestle to mix and pound into a fine-grind...for Brownies. Cover the brownies with a tin pan to avoid burning the mid-night snack? Add pepper, honey, and baste everything until it glazes. Avoid burning to a blazing crisp. We will feel better in, if, ever, we decide to wake up? Do not marinate with too much bad gin. Serve generously to all. As Santa/Salon would say...
Cheers.
And to all at Fox teevee, Santa loves you merry elfs. Howell?
A grape/berry or other fruit is always discolored on the sunny side. A harvest can always be transformed into a darn good liquid feast. Our labors are not in vain if your Left. Heart on the Left side was placed there for a natural reason, it's true? Right? Yes. Plenteous true.
Since the blogs are anonymous how can anyone determine the source?Given the track record of the right wing who can state with any empirical certainty that it was the work of progressives? It certainly is within the realm of possibility that some of the blogs were sent by persons trying to paint the left with that broad brush of hatred. When proof is brought that progressives did indeed make the statements which are so offensive I will be the first to condemn them but until that is shown to my satisfaction I will withhold judgement. Perhaps Mr. Kurtz should have done the same.
The fact is that there is a strain of virulence in the anti-Bush movement that seems to equate him with the worst leaders of history, justifying extreme measures.
You misspelled "realism".
Cheers,
Better examples of right wing hate?
Hmmm... let’s see... Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolph came to mind pretty quickly. Give me a minute, I'm sure the righties have more "men of action" than that.
Well, that's two more of those than the left wing. You might add Kopp and Hill, as well as William Butler et.al. and the folks that beat a couple of gays to death.
But if we're just talking verbal diarrhoea, there's plenty to be found at LGF and Freeperville (not to mention Limbaugh, Gallagher, Beck, Levin, Coulter, Wien-- uhh, "Savage", Reagan, Morgan, and the rest of the RW "media stars"....)
Cheers,
What do you bet that a fair number of those who made comments about Cheney are right-wingers hoping to make liberals look bad?

Big Brother No Longer So Scary
By Howard Kurtz
Wednesday, September 19, 2001The clash was all but inevitable... ...there's little question that momentum is on the side of those who want spies and investigators to have a stronger hand to hunt down those who are, or might be, involved in terror.
In short, Big Brother may no longer have such a menacing image...
-- Howard Kurtz, Wednesday, September 19, 2001
Kurtz claims to be merely reporting the national mood swings, not endorsing them.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
The accountability imposed by another country for the CIA's kidnapping and torture reveals much about our own.
Fox News' morning show plays to type, talking about whether Muslims in the Army should face "special debriefings"
219 Democrats and one Republican join in favor of the legislation, which passed by a narrow margin
The survivor and author is upset about comparisons some on the right are making to genocide
