Goldberg just used the strawman of an "email from someone I know" (whatever) to call these injured veterans whiners.

Having served at Bethesda and Walter Reed, I was not a big fan of the WaPo articles. Would you believe that about 5% of the Marines we had complained endlessly about their treatment? Well I think the WaPo found almost all of them.
How unbelievably contemptable. Some of these folks are horribly, irreperably maimed and Goldberg gladly uses an email to call them whiners and malcontents.
A more loathesome tactic would be hard to fathom.
