    As a certain circus owner once put it: "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can fool all of the people all of the time." (I paraphrase) Its a rather sad commentary on our public discourse that blantant and self-interested ideologues like these command both creditability and respect. Sadly, we can't simply call the Man in the Red Hat anymore and have them all dragged off to a dungeon somewhere.

    But that's the price of the Bill of Rights, I suppose.
