Try as I might, i can't seem to find any objective news source showing the Bush Administration admitting warrantless wiretapping was illegal, so I guess I have to take your word for it. That being the case, shouldn't somebody be getting prosecuted for it? I mean, it WAS against the law according to you...
If the GOP thought it possible, it would exhume Reagan and prop him up in the White House and watch while "Reaganomics" repeats itself into the financial disasters we have today.
And, for the icing on the cake, we'd see a replay of the Iran-Contra Scandal as a means to prop up the military-industrial complex and to run up the Pentagon budget.
That's funny 'cause factually, liberals are more educated and have a generally higher intellect than conservatives.
D'ja ever wonder why liberals dominate education? It's not because conservatives are discriminated against in teaching jobs. It's because the people smart enough to teach others tend to be liberals.
In 1976 Jimmy Carter won. Running the kind of batshit stupid campaign that McCain ran would not have gotten him elected that year or any year. I am white and a male and I wouldnt touch anything that rotten fucking party has to offer and have not since 1980. Go now and be with the whigs.
Only change of the fundamentals of the Republican party will attract minorities. As it is now constituted the philosophy of the party is antithetical to the interests of most minorities. Interestingly, the tone of the article is patronizing, the same tone directed at "Maria Sotomayor" - Republicans can't even focus on who we are as individuals to get our names right - we are groups to be fooled into voting against our own self-interests so that they can maintain power. No more. We are smarter than that.
Ever see that motor scooter ad that PROUDLY assures viewers that THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY A SINGLE DIME for a motor scooter because insurance pays and government pays. IT IS FREE. That ad is exactly what is wrong with this country. We no longer manufacture a darn thing, we don't know how to stop using a credit card, we don't take care of the elderly, and we sure as heck are not putting family first.
And who do you think writes those ads? And who do you think owns the companies who sell the crappy scooters? Republicans!!
For what it's worth, I hate those ads too. And I agree they encourage a "something for nothing," + "give me mine, I don't care that other, more needy individuals get nothing" attitude.
But as whacked out as the policy may be, there's always a Republican ready to "cash in," rather than to "fight government waste."
Come back when your record is cleaner.
Let's face it Obama won because 1) he ran a flawless campaign (even better than Hillary's), 2) by every measure Obama is more intelligent that McCain and 3) a new era of leadership has emerged. Let them lead and let us be supportive.
Republicans can win again; if and when thay/we produce a candidate with equal talent, vision and stop the fractious rhetoric.
Just looks like one big fat buffoonery of a circus act, between all of the scandals, in-fighting and of course drumroll....Alaska's best export Sarah Palin. Republicans, as an FYI, appear to people who are not a member of their party as a clearly confounded, miserable, uncomfortable group of people who are not able to "catch up w/ the times" instead preferring to remain willful and petty, okay we get it, you hate Blacks, Jews, poor people, Gays, extra-marital affairs, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama just hate, hate hate and dislike dislike dislike. They can't seem to remove their head from their asses long enough to really discern as to actually where their weaknesses lay in trying to gather more support other than, well White people, and their message can really inspire in a time of climate change, global economic meltdown and rising rates of unemployment and homelessness in this country. WAKE UP Republicans!! Maybe start w/ that, us outside of your clique feel no sympathy for your plight...
Bill Greener is right as far as he goes.
He was with the NRCC when I was a director there for the GOP's House Leadership AFTER the Nixon Criminals nearly stole the Constitution and we rebuilt the GOP to a winning party. We DID warn the GOP's electeds that they were NOT representative of a broader coalition necessary to win and to hold a "majority" representation of citizens in the U.S. (now over 300 million citizens).
We provided a tax cut program (of Dr. Milton Friedman to cut taxes AND spending equally). RWR came to power and promptly passed the tax cut and then commenced a HUGE spending program that put the D's to shame and has culminated in a multi-Trillion dollar DEBT thanks to GW's $5 Trillion DEFICITS. THAT was by Republicans! I left the GOP in 1984 over it for LYING to the American people.
The demographics today require a coalition of citizens to be able to win elections. The GOP continues as if its AGING, White, males, will be here forever when in fact, they are NOT in the majority now, and will NOT be for the rest of this century.
The GOP has become Irrelevant. It is not only "too old, too white," but Dead as a party. What's next for the GOP, the Bull Mooses?
Say good-bye to the GOP and hello to a new coalition of citizens who want leadership among our citizens, not "brand names" as corrupted by the irrelevant RNC today.
The GOP is DOA.

My experience is that Latinos are pretty shrewd business people, with strong moral standards. More and more people are recognizing that Obama's idea of "change" is different than what they expected....
Read the article - usual Salon bs. Read the comments - bottom line - liberals are mentally deficient. And no, Im not a Republican.
because we need to make every schmuck feel he is totally dependent on Big Brother instead of friends, family, neighbors.
Watch tv every day as they show self-serving fools who are paid too much...sitting around trying to stay awake at meeting after meeting.
