If there were no Israel, there would be transgendered pot smoking hookers elected to the government of Iran. And belief in god would be a capital crime.
Let's send them all to Arabia where they came from!
Did ya see the photo in this story? Contrast that to the Daily Show episode where Jason Jones visits the evil people of Iran. This guy is probably an agent of a foreign intelligence agency, or just some Zionist pawn trying to spin propaganda. BFD.
Hey, did you know a United States Congresswoman has been kidnapped by a foreign power? No? Gee, what a fucking surprise. Since we all live in the United States of Israel, I guess it is not newsworthy.
I repeat: A United States Congresswoman has been kidnapped by a foreign power.
Guess which foreign power. You win a free ham.
"Emergency Email to Obama RE:Gaza"
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/44115
"Dear President Obama,My friend, Cynthia McKinney and Nobel laureate, Mairead Maguire and 20 other people were trying to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, which, as I understand, is something that you have encouraged Israel to allow.
The Honorable Cynthia McKinney served six terms in the US Congress and she was the Green Party candidate for the office that you eventually won. It is an outrage that the Israeli Navy would block the boat that she and 21 others were on in international waters and board the boat and kidnap the crew and humanitarian aid workers.
President Obama, when an American captain was kidnapped by Somali "pirates" US Navy SEALS were sent in to rescue him. He was the captain of a private, for profit, ship and the US military was used to rescue him.
What Israel did, outside of its waters, to an unarmed boat filled with aid for Gazans who have been trapped in a concentration camp by Israel, is an act of international piracy and you must demand that Israel release Ms. McKinney and her fellow captors with all haste.
I just received word that the illegally detained captives have been moved to another prison and may be charged with trying to enter Israel illegally, when they were trying to get aid to Gaza and were not even in Israeli waters.
I can't even express my immense outrage at this overt breach of international law that has been perpetrated by Israel.
Use your influence as the greatest dispenser of military aid to Israel to force that rogue state to release Ms. McKinney et. al., then we can talk about their immoral occupation of Palestine and the inhumane blockade of Gaza.
With urgency,
Cindy Sheehan"
"Israel Attacks Gaza-bound Aid Ship, Kidnaps
Activists"
http://news.antiwar.com/2009/06/30/israel-attacks-gaza-bound-aid-ship-captures-activists/
"A Gaza-bound ship carrying aid to the strip was attacked and captured by the Israeli Navy today, and the 21 activists on the boat are being held as captives by the Israeli government at an undisclosed location. According to the ground that sponsored the voyage, the Israeli government has also confiscated the medicine and other humanitarian goods that were on board.Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinneyAmong those captured by the Israelis was former US Congresswoman and 2008 Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney, who was also on board a ship which tried to reach Gaza in December before nearly being sunk by the Israeli Navy. That ship managed to flee to Lebanon, however.
McKinney’s current status is unclear, however. While previous military reports insist all those aboard were taken captive, Israel’s consulate in Atlanta claims the whole thing was a McKinney plot to “get in the papers” and that she is not among the detainees.
The Israeli navy defended the move, saying the ship posed a security risk. Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said the government was planning to eventually free the captives, adding “nobody wants to keep them here.”
The ship had struggled to leave the island nation of Cyprus last week, with Cypriot authorities reportedly blocking the voyage under pressure from the Israeli government. The Cypriot ambassador has informed Israel that they only allowed the boat to sail under assurances that it was going to head to Egypt. The ship was flying a Greek flag, and the Greek government has reportedly demanded that the passengers be released."
Ever since I came across his thoughts on intermediary Greeks, I've followed journalist, academic, photographer, Iason Athanasiades. He speaks Farsi as well as Arabic and has been a long term student of Iranian culture communicating its richness to the world. His photography complements his writing. He has also reported in Gaza and other parts of the Middle East. He's far more Greek than English and I hope the authorities who hold him will know how admired and respected this man is across many cultures. I know Iason is only one of many now held, but I concur with Sandy's opinion that his imprisonment is a 'breach of Iranian hospitality'. Please let the world have some news of him. Simon
There was a Holocaust during our grandfathers' generation. That means Jews are allowed to do whatever they want to whoever they want, and are subject to eternal sympathy and support, and anyone who says murdering innocent people in the name of Judaism is wrong is an anti-semetic bigot. Haven't you figured this out yet?
Would you like a pitcher of Kool-Aid?
Journalism that acts as a mouthpiece for the CIA, the defense industry, the rich, the warmongers and the crooks, gets the respect that it deserves.
Spies, saboteurs and traitors are lucky not to be just taken out and shot of hanged.
Stop calling it Journalism and maybe you will be less confused.
The CIA spent 400 million on the Iran coup and that's just what they have admitted.
