Sickly talk about fixing healthcare

President Obama, ditch the rhetoric about bipartisanship and enact reform with or without the GOP and the AMA

how to fix american health?

let nature take it's course. no government service, at all. it's only logic, if you keep poor people alive, they only breed more of them, and there is way too many poor loafers around already.

and cutting out medicare and medicaid will save lots of money as well. the fact is, america only needs productive people, and they are insured by their employers. in these difficult economic times, it's simple good sense to trim down the population to the 'winners', as republican voters like to call themselves- it's more american than 'elite.'

He can handle a bothersome fly.

Which is more important?

Health care or the fly?

Hey O-Man:

More LBJ, less Rodney King. And no, we can't all get along. Republicans are all corporate cabana boys; only about a third of Democrats are. Make it happen, man -- public option and the GOP goes extinct sooner.

Why does Obama talk in the 3rd person?

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Obama was questioned about his approval ratings dropping from 61% in April to 56% today. Obama said, "If you have an argument made frequently enough -- whether it's true or not -- it has some impact."

Yes, Obama should know about that. Isn't that in the little red book called: How to be a Community Organizer. Yeah he knows all about 'repeating something enough', especially when you have 90% of media helping you.

Those idiot reporters, editors, owners with no brains and no soul. They need to be held accountable one day for how they sold out the American People. And in sooo many disgusting ways we've seen the facts of this, like the one who bowed to Obama, or the ones who nodding their head down as if Obama was some god, and they say some of the most hideous things and they all act and sound alike... like a fools. It really is sad and hard to watch and I usually cringe.

Obama made this excuse for his dropping popularity, "If you want to attack a Democratic president, how are you going to attack him? Well, you're going to talk about how he wants more government and He wants to socialize medicine and He's going to be oppressive towards business."

"If you want to attack a DEMOCRATIC president..." Well, Mr. Obama, you certainly attacked Republican presidentS pretty good, and you still are. Well, it's good to see you improving on something. Obama always seems surprised that there are any apposing voices and, with a big help from the state run media, even goes after them by name: Rush Limbaugh, Fox News. It is hard dealing with the zombies. And he even admits there is "ONE television station that's out to get me." The fact is that there are statistics showing Fox gave equal coverage to Obama and McCain during the campaign, but the networks... Well, we all know that they sold their souls to Obama.

Obama went on to say, "Well, you're going to talk about how He (Obama) wants more government and He (Obama) wants to socialize medicine and He's (Obama's) going to be oppressive towards business. I mean, that's pretty standard fare."

Did He (Obama) mean that growing more government and wanting to socialize medicine and being oppressive toward business is 'pretty standard fare'? I think that is what he really meant.

Another thing. Why does Obama talk in the 3rd person?

Boycott BarakObama.com

For those of us that receive e-mail from BarakObama.com and want to get the attention of the Whitehouse on healthcare, war, gay rights, kissing the GOP's ass etc, we should all "unsubscribe". A few million goodbye's should get the presidents attention and tell him to grow a pair.

You Can't Have Everything? Jettison Bipartisanship. Save Lives.

I am retired and have Medicare with Medigap private insurance - in other words a mix of public and private coverage. It works well for my wife and myself. So what is the problem with the Republicans? It can only be that the bloodsucking private insurance companies, hospital conglomerates and big pharma wil have to find an honest way to do business for a change.

In my opinion, any Senator or Representative who votes against this should be removed from office immediately in public disgrace. This is not a question of party politics but a question of whom are these people representing the people that elected them or their rich contributors. Actually I'd like to see them tried for treason because if this does not pass Americans will die for lack of care.

Bipartisanship out the window. Ram it through. Lives are at stake!

You all don't get it

I agree that bi-partisanship should not be an end in itself. I believe that a plan which passes 51-49 is fine.

However, you don't seem to grasp all the complexity involved in this issue. You can't take a system that developed in another country over 60 years and just plop it down in the United States. It will not work. Even if a plan is rammed through congress,it will not work without industry buy-in.

Here are some of the issues:

Currently doctors pay around 160K or more for their education bill. Then they work for between 40K - 60K per year during their residency. Now, if you are going to regulate the pay doctors get, you will also have to regulate the education costs they pay...or there will be no doctors. But if you do that, why would you not also regulate the costs of all education?

Regulating insurance is fine. But then there would need to be strict rules on malpractice suits. Hospitals are sued all the time, evey day. Some of these lawsuits are legitimate, some are not. Each one must go through many legal and technical evaluation processes. How will this be regulated?

England and Europe all have semi-socialist systems. They have high income tax to pay for their services. They have much better, but much more highly subsidized education systems. They do not maintain as large standing military. In short, to change health care in the US means changing many many aspects of our society. And this needs broad support from everyone, including republicans and the AMA.
