There you go again! Kissing up to Hitler makes you and your points invalid and much less hilarious than Satan's Pomps.
I am beginning to wonder if you two are one in the same and if your REAL NAME is Lyndon LaRouche!!!
/Thundercrack followed by screams of terror and hysterical laughter and then by the sound of rotting vegetables flying through the air the the whoosh of LaRouche ducking more adeptly and spryly than even George Bush!!!
If you care so much, then why do you put the security of Israel ahead of the security of the United States? Do you believe that 100% unflinching support for all things Israel and defending everything Israel does regardless is good for the United States and in its National Interests?
Why do you say that?
Yes the Jews have always been there. The stayed and converted and we call them Palestinians now.
They are the same people of the Bible.

Bill Kristol is the Oracle of the Opposite.
Whatever he predicts, expect the opposite. He never fails at failing.

Quite simply: I don't, because I don't agree with you that we are doing that.

No, I emphatically do not think that, and thanks for asking. I'm not suggesting unflinching support for Israel. I don't think that Israel is a blameless actor, anyone who does is a fool. I'm an atheist so I'm not expecting Jesus to rebuild the temple any time soon. I understand that there are right-wing fundamentalists in Israel who have holy-war agendas, and I'm against them, too.
There is, however, a middle ground between unflinching support, and complete abandonment. Furthermore, our support should give us leverage that we would not otherwise have, although I'll be the first to admit that our previous efforts have been sorely lacking in that regard.
Says a Serbian/French/Indonesian/jewish/Turkish agnostic liberal, like myself, whos best good drinkin buddy is a Palestinian who's dating a mexican woman.
Hooray USA!
Too bad we are not talking about America, we are talking about the "Holey" Land.
Too bad we are not talking about Americans, we are talking about cookoo religion fanatics and ethnocentric boobs with thousand year old grudges.
Nevertheless, beyond its immediate political-military context, the current war serves a deeper need for Israelis: recovering from the trauma of our debacle in Lebanon in 2006. We grew to believe that our military is invincible, and whenever it fails to fulfill our expectations, we feel defenseless and doomed. The only way out of it is to go for another round and hope for better results.
The honesty here is painful. What, sir, of the trauma of the Palestinians? What second round shall we expect from them when they wish to regain their feelings of potency, or "invincibility?"
Is this like the U.S. invading Iraq in order to "kick the Vietnam syndrome?"
The folly, the idiocy, the complete madness of depending on one's military in order to feel invincible, or, for that matter, believing that "feeling invincible" should matter in the least, should be readily apparent to those whose abstract reasoning functions are intact.
In both cases, the "trauma" was not to the people, not at all, but to the power elite's propaganda machine and its ability to convince the citizenry that killing masses of strangers is ever in their interests.
Judith Stone said it best when she asked:
"Where are the Jews of conscience?...being a survivor or a co-religionist of the victims of the European Holocaust does not grant dispensation from abiding by the rules of humanity....'Never again' as a motto, rings hollow when it means 'never again to us alone.'"
What is going on now is an atrocity. Palestinians had their land taken away forcibly, and now, after fifty years in refugee camps and crowded into subhuman conditions in Gaza, they're being exterminated.
Israel is a nation built on the subjugation and exile of Palestinians, maintained by subjugation and exile of the Palestinians. When the Palestinians attempt to fight back, they naturally must be crushed in order for the Israeli state to maintain status quo.
Package it up any way you like, Zionists, but what Israel is doing right now to the Palestinians in Gaza an atrocity and it's inexcusable.

Oh wait, that's the bad kind of hate speech. Sorry.

OK, yes...I caught the Irony

While your statement would have had some truth during the late 1800s and early 1900s, because the term Palestine referred mostly to Jews living in the area at the time, it's not true any more.
For instance, Palestine Texas is not named after the Arab population living in the the former Judea. It's name after the Biblical area.
The entire area was called Judea until 135ce, when a Rome renamed it Palestine in order to suppress Jewish nationalism.
Your claim that Jews converted in mass to Islam is simply unsupported by any historical fact.
In fact, the term Palestinian didn't even start to refer to Islamic people in the area until 1930s.
While you would have the Palestine conference earlier, this was a region not a people, and included the area of what is now Jordan.
Love or hate Arafat, he did succeed in creating a people who seem themselves and a distinct group now. Though this is a relatively new idea, they still count as a people and should have their own homeland. It won't be all of Israel the West Bank and Gaza, anymore than the Jewish areas will consist of the same area.
The irony of it all is Jews for 2,000 years were hounded because they would not assimilate and change religions. They were subject to mass expulsion many times in Europe's history. They were constantly subject to harassment for keeping their own culture - Then you come along and pretend none of that happened.
