Rod Blagojevich's bad hair day

The perfectly coiffed politician is under arrest, sunk by his own vanity. But what did you expect? He's an Illinois governor.

The letters thread is now closed.

re: zoltan newberry

I have been a Salon reader for quite a while now and I enjoy what your readers have to say. But, I'm always amazed at the sheer amount of postings that "zoltan newberry" generates....just recently: from 12/10 @ 3:53a.m. to 12/11 @ 4:38a.m. (with several postings in between)....24 HRS!! Get a life buddy!!!

Blago...good looking???

I'm sorry I just don't see the "beauty" in this corrupt Gov. With his wig-like hairstyle and little beaty eyes, I find him exceptionally unattractive. How did this guy get elected?? What were the citizens of Illinois thinking??

Picture

why does the picture show a mirror image?

On TV his part is on the other side.

Trivial, I know, but it looks weird.

Funny how Salon

decides to downplay this debacle yet headlines a story about Mark Penn...Hmmmmm...C'mon, at least bring us more stories on "Triple J" (Jesse Jackson Jr)...

If I was Blago

I'd be totally pissed at Obama for throwing him under the bus...Especially after Blago's wife brokered that sweet deal of a home between Rezko and Obama...Shame on you Obama...Stand by your man!!!!

Bob's Big Boy!

THAT"S IT!

I KNEW the cheeks and hair were familiar!

I never understood all this "Elvis" stuff

To me the governor of my fine state of Ellenoise always looked more like a Beatle ca. 1964. Or maybe one of the other British-Invasion-era guys. But Elvis? Nope.

Also, am I the only Eastern European who doesn't understand why his last name is not pronounced Blag-o-YAY-vich? That's the way it would have been said by my old-world relatives if they were still around.

Blago as Nute Gunray

Trying to sell Senator Palpatine's empty Senate seat? Boy, is Blago stupid.

But it is good news for Obama, this will tie up a loose end quite nicely (how do you think HE got his old job? I know, I know - you are shocked, shocked that gambling is going on in this establishment).

Blago'll be going to jail just as Ryan, the other thieving governor, is getting out probably - maybe they should move the office to Joliet(where the state prison is).

Elvis?

Not Elvis, it's the "BOB'S BIG BOY" statue he's going for. And he's nailed it.

Probably dumber than Palin and notably ugly

This is one very ugly man who looks like a dumb, low-level thug on miami vice that gets taken in early and squeals on his boss.

All I can say is whatever. Why don't you join the idiots over at Ace of Spades, they'll love you on that blog.

Zoltan

Make as many excuses as you want, we still had no reason to go in there. We don't invade a country becuase we don't like it's leader, we use war as a means of last resort for protection. Most of Bush's cabinet belonged to PNAC, a group dedicated to the overthrough of Saddam as far back as the early nineties so to say this was about 9/11 is baseless. The man who really attacked our country is still at large because we wasted resources going into Iraq. The only reason republicans even supported going in in the first place was because a republican president wanted to.

The BIG LIE is the left's Orwellian insistance that Bush went to war based on what he knew was a lie, when, alla da tyme, ALL intelligence pointed to Saddam's dangerous chemical, biological & nuclear weapons programs, ...

...and his proven willingness to use them against soldiers and civilians alike.

Hello, don't let the facts get in the way of your klueless libralizm and your idiotic progressive rubbish.

My "sacred" grandma is too typical of the many innocent dupes who are so easily talked into complacency and appeasement by left wingers with their very selective standards of behavior.

They have one standard of behavior for Israel, and a different one for Syria.

They have one standard of behavior for the USA, and a different one for Russia.

They ignore the fact that Guantanimo prisoners gain weight, while prisoners in nearby Cuba, like Dr. Oscar Biscet, waste away without medical attention in filthy 3 meter by 8 meter cells.

When you have an ideology which has not only never worked, it has actually resulted in countless murders and decades of human misery, then, you have very angry lefoids who get very pissed off whenever they are told that their ideology is full of crap.

Do you realize that the kind of "job" Blagoyavich was fishing for is just the kind of job Jamie Gorelick actually got at Fannie Mae which paid her a million bucks a year for doing not very much, other than representing a house of cards which has cost us all very dearly? If you do not remember, she is that formerly high official in the Klinton "Justice" Department who was largely responsible for crafting the policies which made it impossible for our various intellignece agencies to share information.

Leaving them free to communicate might have prevented 9/11. There actually was a female FBI agent in the Midwest who shouted to the rooftops about the alarming number of Middle Eastern "exchange students" learning to fly, and, thanks to Klinton's lawyerly policies, she was not allowed to fully communicate her alarm and listen to these scum bags' telephone and internet chatter.

zoltan

What does any of that have to do with going in based on a lie? Who cares if she is spouting "anti-war propoganda"? That is what your freedom of speech is about. Unless you only believe in it for Iraqis.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 08:44 PM

Dear Zoltan,

YOU know we could have gone in, killed him, his psycho sons, and left! Better yet! Let Rham Emanuel and Mossad operatives do it!

While we're on the subject of Iraq...hey! ,free Pollard! I am serious here! Bush will pardon Ryan but not Pollard? What is that all about?

I can not discuss the Klinton Kartel as I have been seriously branded and verbally attacked on the Salon blogs back when Editors, who shall not be named, started labeling some of us as "Clinton Haters"...I had to establish an underground railroad of sorts for other accusees...my letters are filed.

It was pretty heady stuff...I mean, re-education camps were being set up! Talk about thought patrol!

Goodnight, be well and I agree with you on Ted Kennedy also but he is old and sick and I do hope repentent...I do not champion him Zoltan....I feel sorry for him..it is ever with him....his Judge awaits.
