McCain's ties to and kind words for G. Gordon Liddy, who prepared to have his men kill anybody who got in their way during the Watergate break-in. This is the same Liddy who plotted assassinations of political opponents and reporters.
If we're going to play the guilt-by-association game, McCain/Palin loses.
John McCain, fool that he is, has opened Pandora's Box with all of his accusations. The more he and Palin speak, the deeper they get stuck into their own muck.
You may have heard this one but the most outrageous quote from Vogler was in a 1991 interview the recording of which is at the University of Alaska when he said:
"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home".
If Governor Palin sent a taped message to these nut cases, I'm dying to see/hear it. As well as some footage from their convention. I don't just want to rely on the Ted Stevens phone tapes for my entertainment this week. Let's have it!
Here's the problem with all of us who don't profess mindless love for McCain/Palin: We're convinced that logic, fairness and consistency have a place in our country!
Never mind that you're exactly right in suggesting equal treatment for ALL candidates, checkin' out EVERYONE'S history since their parents conceived them. You're just sufferin' from Palin Derangement Syndrome if you don't accept her immaculate life as presented by the McCain/Palin campaign!
Bitch about Sarah Palin all you want, but don't try to make Wally Hickel out as an AIPer -- he had a POLITICAL opportunity to get (re)elected as governor of Alaska on the AIP ticket, and took it! He was a Republican -- a moderate Republican, at that, with fairly decent (not perfect) credentials on the environment.
Hickel was not a secessionist. Some AIP faithful even called for his recall.
He USED the AIP to get back into the governor's seat. Then rejoined the Republican Party.
Here's a link to Sarah Palin's videotaped address to the AIP convention:

Hey McGee, google for the video of Palin.
Hey Talbot, forget the "imagine if Obama" stuff. Just hit hard on the repugnants.
Here's Palin's message to the troops:

you got video -

Palin's support for treason...
and NOT a brand, caliber, or type of firearm.
I appreciate you giving us this important info on the wingnuts & their fellow travelers, but please pay attention to the small details. When the right wing gun owners get distarcted by that error they'll use it to justify ignoring the actual focus of the article.
I know whereof I speak, there are many of that type in my extended family.
Their "anointed one" can do no wrong, therefore, it's the bearer of unpleasant facts that must be attacked.
Doesn't Talbot understand that since Palin is Godly, her detractors must therefore be in league with Satan?
could someone with access ask her about this? Maybe even press her on it a bit? I would love to hear her try and spin out one of her rambling, dissembling answers to avoid that question. There's so little to look forward to in this dreadful election, it'd be nice to have a bit of fun. Not that that will actually happen... So, just a thought; another one of my hopeless voter's fantasies I suppose.
I agree with those that are wondering if Palin's mudslinging isn't going to kick this right back into her face. For that matter, why shouldn't it? I would say that directly addressing AIP as governor is more significant than knowing someone who once belonged to the Weathermen.
I was just watching the video and I have to ask. What the hell happened to her accent? She sounds a lot more Ohio than Minnesota... Did the GOP campaign handlers ask her to play it up so she seems... folksier?

It isn't that the Palins are un-American, it's that they're more than American. America declared itself independent from Britain, and now they just want to take the next logical step and do exactly what America did in 1776, only to America. Clearly, the other 49 states are spineless wimps for staying in the Union.
there is that rumour about the Palins having the full backing of the Rigelian Horde. Just sayin'
"That name......" what makes you think they weren't talking about a condom? Oh yeah, I forgot, birth control is a dangerous thing. By now the whole country should realize how lame this whole dirty politics garbage is, but, alas I don't think its quite sunken in on many voters. Too much ideology and not enough rational thought for many of them. With the economy tanked by the conservatives, unemployment growing and the once mighty US military in shambles, haven't we had enough of the whole lying conservative gang?
I certainly hope so, I fear, however, not.
McCain makes one of his low attacks on McCain. Obama responds that he, too, could get into attack mode on the McCain campaign and bring up:
How McCain kicked off his political career with the help of Singlaub who was part of a secret program that used former intelligence operatives to arm the anti-communist Contras, circumventing a ban on U.S. military assistance to the rebels and violating the neutrality act passed by congress. McCain also sat on the board of Singlaub's anti-communist league which the Anti-Defamation League in 1981 alleged had “increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact, for extremists, racists and anti-Semites."
How McCain was one of the Keating Five
How the Palin's have been pallin around with anti-American terrorists that were aligned with the Iran government
How McCain has voted to raise taxes xxx times using the same erroneous criteria they are using to assert that Obama voted to raise taxes.
etc.
But I am not going to do that. I believe that there are important issues facing this country and that tactics like this are a cheap diversion that covers up the fact that McCain has no solutions and only offers more of the same and that Palin is nothing more than a mean-spirited, ingnorant bully who has nothing to offer the American people that wouldn't be better suited to SNL.
OK, that last bit about Palin was a bit over the top. But you get the idea.
