Her real twin is Hugo Chavez

She jacked up the already confiscatory tax on Alaskan oil production causing a 16.5% in production.

She tripled the welfare check paid to every Alaskan resident to $2884 per person but increased gasoline prices for all working Americans.

She also struck a deal to export 100% of Alaskan natural gas to Canada.

How can the conservatives be fooled by this socialist bimbo????

The Bush Family's Perpetual, Unwinnable Wars Bequeathed To Us.

I was assigned to recruiting duty for a short time four decades ago and viewing the young men present in the McCain-Palin made me salivate over having such a pool of potential recruits to fight the war this convention so exuberantly supports. But no nation, be it a super-power or hyper-power, can forever wage the endless which the Bush family gave us fighting Islam's billion plus globally dispersed adherents. (Yeah, both Bush father and son.The old man should not be allowed to get out of his involvement in what has happened since he intruded in the Middle East in 1990.) Steve WW2

Kiss Roe V. Wade Goodbye

Women who vote for Sarah Palin are voting to overturn Roe v. Wade and to abolish women's freedom of choice.

Palin's address to AIP convention

Although her membership in the Alaskan Independance Party was rebuffed, why does the VP Nominee for the Republican party bravely speak at the AIP 2008 convention (Fairbanks) urging them on with their "good work". Obviously her sentiments lay outside the Union.

Is notehound a common Internet handle...

...or is this notehound again, from Sept 4:

There really are women like Erin Brockovich. I am a pro-choice independent, but I really like Sarah Palin (even though I originally thought McCain was nuts for picking an unknown with a pregnant teenager). Personally, I think that teenage pregnancy is caused by teenagers who, in the passion of the moment, ignore their own favorite method of contraception, whether it is abstinence, condoms or abortion. One way to prevent teenage pregnancy is to force all teenage girls go on the pill (with the attendant health risks). Another way is to prevent teen boys and girls from being alone together. Neither of these is likely to occur in a free society. It doesn't matter whether a teen thinks of abortion as contraceptive, condoms, the pill or abstinence, they are going to have sex in the heat of passion (that's the way either God or Evolution made us). Just like drugs, teen pregnancy is always with us because very few teenagers have the strength of will to "just say no" to sex (or to "just say no" to sex without condoms). In the heat of passion, unprotected sex happens to teens of all religious persuasions and all abortion views. As for Sarah Palin, I thought McCain was nuts for choosing her. However, last night I found her to be charming, cool, funny and so authentic that I couldn't take my eyes off her when she spoke. That speech last night (9-3-08) was absolutely incredible and entertaining, while showing us that there still are Erin Brockovich type women out there. She's a breath of fresh air. I think that her strength in ENERGY POLICY is going to really be an asset to Washington in helping us to get a practical ENERGY INDEPENDENCE plan in place (together with T. Boone Pickens). The empty suit talking heads don't get anything done. This lady is a REAL LEADER: A fresh mix of strength and liberated femininty. As a REAL Independent, I have been hoping there would be someone out there who was a leader, not just a bureacrat. WE'VE HAD BUREAUCRATS RUNNING THINGS FOR TOO LONG... That's what got us into this mess. Talking heads and do-nothing policy wonks. I don't care what are her abortion views or religious views. I know that people are going do what they want on these issues regardless of who's in the White House. I am confident that we will always be a pro-choice nation, but we have been a "leaderless" nation for too long. I like to see real leaders, even if I disagree with them. WE NEED REAL LEADERS. This lady looks like a leader to me.

oh and another thing notehound

You only joined Politico September 1st.

So why'd you get so interested in Palin all of a sudden? Karl Rove came to you in a dream, and said, "go forth and blog about Palin?"

Notehound, tell us how you really feel

Since you only have had 3 posts at Salon so far, all related to Sarah "Iron Curtain" Palin, I googled you, so far I've found a couple of things, apparently you didn't care too much for Sarah "Kremlin" Palin back on Sept 1, 2008 - what is that, 4 days ago? Notehound wrote at politico.com:

"A surprise pick with unnecessary baggage! Don't worry, the bus is coming.

I think that Palin's poor judgment in accepting the nomination with an unwed pregnant daughter might be her undoing. She should step down "for the good of her family" in order to remove her daughter's extracurricular activities from the spotlight.

If McCain wanted a Pro-Life, Pro-Drilling, Anti-Earmark fiscal conservative, he should have picked a more conventional choice like former Congresswoman Melissa A. Hart of Pennsylvania. Plus, Melissa Hart is Catholic - a plus in my book!

There's plenty of room under the bus with Obama's granny and Rev. Wright. It's a big bus.

Take one for the home team, Sarah... step down for the sake of the party!"

The Rove Angle

Is nobody here going to commend Jeff for his extremely interesting hypothesis about Rove's role in all this? The idea that Rove has set up Palin as the next W is just too deliciously perverse for words. But the thing is, it's quite plausible. There is no machination too devious, no deception too dishonorable, for our man Karl.

Certainly one should view with a jaundiced eye any claims by a successful Alaska politician to have "taken on the oil companies." The oil companies know what voters think of them, and they know that if they want to go on choosing our leaders they have to keep the vote close enough that the theft of the election isn't so obvious that it starts a civil war. They are not too dumb to start grooming their guy -- or gal -- way in advance. They may be grooming dozens, or hundreds, as I type. And they aren't too dumb to notice the advantages in giving their groomee an image as someone who can "take on big oil."

In other words, where the Republicans are concerned, everything is smoke and mirrors. The only solid reality is the anger, cowardice, and stupidity of the base.
