So what is the difference between McCain and Obama on attacking Iran to bolster the war profits for the defense contractors?
None.
Journalsim isn't interested in that.

when you vote for a politician...
you find yourself being ruled by politicians. but some are worse than others: mccain will compound america's problems in the middle east, because that's his pathway to power. the national interest consists of him getting elected, whatever it takes.
i'd like to just shrug my shoulders and let americans continue digging their grave, but no telling how much 'collateral damage' you're willing to spread around. so please people, vote for obama. he at least, is not visibly living in fantasy land. if elected, he might improve the situation. mccain is just stacking commodus on caligula, ww3 is a likely outcome, economic disaster guaranteed.

Our Choice is Clear: Lunacy or Reason
John McCain is in an enviable position: at his age he has absolutely nothing to lose by running amok -- as he most surely would -- if given the bully pulpit of the US Presidency. Our choice, and our duty to ourselves and the world, is clear. We can continue to cower under the bed and pretend the big bad Muslims are coming to...to...well, whatever Mad John says they'll do, which is whatever Dubya has implied over the past seven and one-half years, or we can choose to engage our problem neighbors on the planet, Iran being high on that list, and put them in the position of having to defend their point man, Mahmoud Ahmedenejad. Mr. A., a one-man circus to rival Bush43 and/or McCain, is a paid agent provocateur and nothing more. He has no power (direct nor otherwise) to launch any sort of military adventures against anyone, and his job is primarily to put forth a less exotic face toward the west, while providing Nixonian "Madman" rhetoric intended to stir support and anti-Israel and anti-western sentiment among the lunatic fringe primarily in the middle east and the 'stans.
Ahmedenejad is, then, in effect an elected court's fool. In this way he differs from our Fool, who actually does have certain limited authority to wage war and similar military adventures, making us the more dangerous rogue nation -- which we have already proven to the world by our rape and pillage of Iraq.
A warrior-type such as McCain knows no other way to conduct business than to eliminate all competition by way of military action. He is not well-educated, he is not militarily experienced in terms of command or even field experience, he has no domestic clue (he has now called for the construction of 45 nuclear power plants over the next 22 years -- think of the plutonium! -- and has also called for drilling off US coastlines as the answer to the current oil price-out, and is even babbling about clean coal, yet hasn't advanced word one as to how any of this would be accomplished or why any of it is a good idea). Add to this PTSD and his Nothing-to-Lose age and attitude (and I wouldn't normally add age to the litany, but in his case, given his record, limitations and cancer history I feel he is a particulary dangerous man, even walking down the street). His temper and complete lack of impulse control are legendary and were even before his 5 years as a POW in Vietnam.
Our other choice is the fleet, graceful, adroit, strong, steady, intelligent Democrat Barack Obama. While McCain not only represents a continuation of the Culture of Fear, he threatens to back it up with the second-wave Culture of Violence which our "Decider" has pursued for over five years now, to no apparent effect.
Obama has just issued a very cogent observation about the status of the criminal Osama Bin Laden, which was so sane and reasonable it almost takes one's breath away. McCain can do no more than rattle sabres, meanwhile eyeing Roe v. Wade, which he would eviscerate with his free hand while stacking the Supreme Court with neocon toadies.
Iran is not only a workable problem, it is a supremely attractive first order of business for the right President, as is Hezbollah, which Mr. Majd accurately points out is now a legitimate political functionary. This all actually works in our favor if approached with finesse instead of a blunt instrument. McCain's perversion of the term "appeasement" either exposes a deep-seated ignorance of history and meaning, or a deliberate perversity intended to seduce what he sees as the gullible voting bloc. It is our job not to despise and ridicule that bloc, but to attempt to enlighten and innoculate it against this sort of perverted non-reason and/or ignorance.
The choice becomes so eye-poppingly clear that, given the series of lunatic pronouncements by McCain in the past week alone, it should give Obama a madate and a smooth ride down Pennsylvania Avenue.
"Should" of course is the operative word. The American people have been cowed by its leadership's panic-mongering for so long that this may no longer be the Home of the Brave. I hope I'm wrong, and with a smart campaign designed to change the atmosphere here at home, we may well be on our way to a recovery at long last.
It won't happen without a whole lot of hard work, however. Ready to really roll? Let's start by sending a message to Mad John McCain that his help really isn't needed at the moment. The sooner the message is delivered, the smoother the rest of the trip will be.

USA v. Iran
The choice in dealing with the supposed menace of Iran will seem very clear to any right-thinking mind: reasonable diplomacy, or war. Given our current inability to prosecute two wars consecutively in Iraq and Afghanistan, a third war with Iran appears fool-hardy.
Apparently, McCain and the neocons do not seem to understand this. They would rather have us hide under our beds(in fear) while they continue to send our most precious resources to die for half-baked ideas.

What if Iran invaded Mexico?
Yeah, what if Iran invaded Mexico and replaced the Mexico government with a puppet Muslim regime, and they accused the United States of trying to destabilize their neighbor. Wait, what if some Americans (not the leaders who can make those decisions, just some loud mouths) suggested we take out Hugo Chavez, you know, just take him out.
Should the rest of the world decide we are the bad guys? Because Iran invaded the Western Hemisphere and was building long term military bases? Should they support Iran, because the United States promised to destroy Venezuela?
The MSM is reporting that Tiger Woods will miss the rest of the golf season.
