clarification
You're welcome, Celia. I should clarify, however, that counting Florida and Michigan as-is would give Hillary 55 more delegates than Obama would receive from the two contests. There are 356 in all, so Obama would get about 150 of them, and Hillary would get about 205. So any argument that Obama's intentionally keeping FL and MI from being seated is ridiculous, because it wouldn't change the fact that he's still going to win the delegate count by triple figures.

show me, again
It seems like you are projecting and are seeing only the bad. I myself, an Obama supporter, called out many for being sexist on these threads. And there were many others, particularly in responses to story focusing on sexism who objected to sexism displayed against Senator Clinton. I recall the positive responses of many women (and men, fyi) who support Obama to Rebecca Traister's article on "Obama boys."
I'm kind of shocked that older women would handicap their children in such a way because they're pissed about HILLARY CLINTON? It seems that if you really objected to the sexism that she experienced you would be for women's rights in general.

@ Show Me
No, I can't find much fault in Hillary's professed policies. It's the way she plays politics. You can play "hardball" without doing signing onto measures to ban flag burning. The difference, to me, between Hillary and someone like Ann Richards was that Ann Richards spoke her mind and didn't give a damn who heard her. Whereas Hillary seems to say anything and everything that people may want to hear (that moment in time) that will aid her in getting elected.

@abe_jrdn
Calling me immature is not going to work, Josh Marshall already tried that and then continued to rally his bully boyz. That is when I stopped going to his site. I understand what you are saying about flame throwers online but the sexism has been just as apparent on cable,in newspapers,on network television,in magazines. Keith Olbermann's comment about some guy taking Hillary into a room and coming out alone,comes to mind. Editoral writers and columnists have used violent metaphors i.e... bodyblows,take her down,take her out, I could go on for pages. Democratic men who are leaders of our party have given virtually NO pushback all the while wringing their hands at any intentionally misunderstood so called racist comment. Obama himself has used his own "dog whistles" i.e.; claws come out, periodically down etc. Sorry, it comes down to core values and I have seen no evidence in the progressive left that women's rights are a core value.

show me
The assertion that any young woman who is supporting Obama is "so happy to go along with the boys..." is not at all respectful.
You asked us to ask ourselves: " Am I intimidated by the backlash that will come if I declare myself interested in women's rights?" And I will answer you with a resounding NO. I am not intimidated. Again, not respectful to suggest young women can’t support Obama for their own reasons. Its plain old nasty – to suggest were just going along with the boys.
I'm disappointed with the attempts at intimidation from you and other women to bully younger women suggesting you can't be a feminist unless you support Hillary.
Of course, I would love to see a woman president someday and I certainly think it is achievable - probably inevitable - in my lifetime. Maybe that's why I'm more patient and would prefer someone who stands up for progressive ideals.
In the end, if it was Hillary I would vote for her over McCain in a heartbeat. But it would hurt me to do so- I really, firmly with all my heart believe that going along with Bush on the war - and adopting the same posture on Iran - has undermined what she stands for domestically. Its not like you can simply overlook that war, as just another issue- the neocon agenda of preemption is diametrically opposed to a progressive agenda!

@BryanS
No need for me to try again sweetie because you'll do the work for me and show us all how much of a smug ass you can be soon enough.

To TRenee and celiainSF:
When people like dataguyx and tompayne attacked Clinton supporters in a sexist way, did you defend the Clinton supporters, or did you ally yourselves with the sexists?
When other women pointed out that the basis of many of the attacks upon Senator Clinton was sexist, did you acknowledge this or did you scoff and merely say "but not not this woman?"
When KateTex was called Kotex by Obama supporters, did you jump in and defend her on the basis that this was an unacceptable sexist attack upon a woman even though she was an Clinton supporter?
When I was called cunt by an Obama supporter, did you object?
If you did not do these very mimimal things to show solidarity with other women, then you are not feminists. Why expect our votes now? When you or your friends or your daughter or other loved one needs an abortion but cannot get one, don't blame other women who simply cannot hold their noses and vote for Obama after the concerted sexist attacks of some of his supporters. Blame yourselves. No, not for supporting Obama, but rather for not being loud and clear that sexist attacks on Clinton were unacceptable.
The assumption that feminist women who support Clinton and who have been almost as verbally battered by many virulently sexist male Obama supporters as has Clinton herself are somehow Republicans is a lie. Feminism is a progressive cause. Women all over the world die because of misogyny. Their freedoms are drastically curtailed. They lack control over their own bodies and their own income. Here, in America, women are raped -- at hate crime; battered -- a hate crime; and sexually assaulted as children -- a hate crime. When you are ready to acknowledge that the fight against misogyny is as much a progressive cause as the battle against racism, only then will you be truly feminists.
Enjoy your youth revolution. Maybe you can locate a Bro's before Ho's t-shirt to show solidarity with the guys.
