The assertion that any young woman who is supporting Obama is "so happy to go along with the boys..." is not at all respectful.
You asked us to ask ourselves: " Am I intimidated by the backlash that will come if I declare myself interested in women's rights?" And I will answer you with a resounding NO. I am not intimidated. Again, not respectful to suggest young women can’t support Obama for their own reasons. Its plain old nasty – to suggest were just going along with the boys.
I'm disappointed with the attempts at intimidation from you and other women to bully younger women suggesting you can't be a feminist unless you support Hillary.
Of course, I would love to see a woman president someday and I certainly think it is achievable - probably inevitable - in my lifetime. Maybe that's why I'm more patient and would prefer someone who stands up for progressive ideals.
In the end, if it was Hillary I would vote for her over McCain in a heartbeat. But it would hurt me to do so- I really, firmly with all my heart believe that going along with Bush on the war - and adopting the same posture on Iran - has undermined what she stands for domestically. Its not like you can simply overlook that war, as just another issue- the neocon agenda of preemption is diametrically opposed to a progressive agenda!
