To aka, again
OK. I jumped the gun and didn't finish reading your whole post. But reading the rest of it managed to offend me even more.
You said: Feminism is a progressive cause. Women all over the world die because of misogyny. Their freedoms are drastically curtailed. They lack control over their own bodies and their own income. Here, in America, women are raped -- at hate crime; battered -- a hate crime; and sexually assaulted as children -- a hate crime. When you are ready to acknowledge that the fight against misogyny is as much a progressive cause as the battle against racism, only then will you be truly feminists.
I have NEVER NEVER said that fighting misogyny is not as much of a progressive cause as fighting racism. NEVER. I am deeply disappointed that you would characterize me in that way. What I have pointed out, however, is that it's stupid to debate whether sexism or racism is worse because they are inextricably linked, as well as class, and all spring from the same well.
Damn, AKA. Just when I start to like you, you slap me with that? Geez.
