who is hurting "the party"?
I just don't get it.
Having a prolongued primary is good for the dems, it allows it to get its ass in gear regarding gotv efforts, grass roots organizing, voter lists, etc. Training wheels. Practice. Something that hasn't happened much before in my experience.
And then there is the added dimension that (relatively) friendly competition between the candidates helps to hone their skills and put them in fighting condition.
I keep wondering, what would have happened in '04 if Kerry and Dean had to duke it out a while longer. Maybe the Dean Scream would've been exposed for the media manipulation fraud that it was and maybe Kerry could have found a way to articulate his thoughts better (not so sure about that).
All this talk about getting Hillary out of the race before she tears the party apart is just a lot of hysteria (dare I use that word) promoted by people who are afraid that Obama can't win.
Hillary is not tearing the party apart. Not sure I can say the same about Obama (whose commitment to the party is so far pretty weak) and dubious others like Brazile.
