    Yes. Good thing, too. It may not actually be possible to win the presidency without carrying at least a couple of Southern states. This is why the last three Democratic winners have been from the South.

    Basically my question is: is it so inconceivable that Obama might carry some of the Deep South states in Nov?

    Not at all.

    You might have some uncertainties here, but it appears you're very much on the right track. Go with it.
