But screaming for the heads of all the priests is not going to win you elections
In the 1920's & '30's in Mexico, there was active murderous persecutions against the Catholic Church. I suppose the hope was that they would wipe it out (Graham Green wrote about it in The Power and The Glory). But it doesn't work and ultimately it's unpopular. Similarly any American candidate for just about anything isn't going to get away with some of the angry crackpot things I see here "Let's Abolish Religion etc...." Please save that revolutionary nonsense for the Chinese Communist political re education camps.
THAT'S the problem the Dems have. They have a constituency that wants to trumpet some universalist aggressively atheist new world order, no matter who is pisses off no matter how many elections they lose as a result.
