Letters to the Editor

Hillary's missteps are legion, but both candidates are flesh and blood, and their squandered opportunities have prolonged the race.
  • Metaphorically-Speaking: Screw You, Walter!

You wrote: "The problem that Obama has had with expanding his base in every primary since Wisconsin may boil down to the simple equation that either you get it...or you are tone-deaf...Either you are a full-fledged member (with the secret handshake and the decoder ring) or else you find yourself voting for a well-known, albeit flawed, alternative called Hillary Clinton."

I make NO apology for preferring Hillary to Barack! But, to paint me and my colleagues who do support her as somehow being out-of-touch or worse is yellow journalism at its worst. "Salon" readers and Hillary Democrats deserve better writing and more respect, Walter.

This vetting process (between Hillary and Barack) is pretty much split 50/50; it is far from decided. I like Hillary precisely beCAUSE she fights, is tenacious and doesn't quit; Barack and his minions should stop whining and keep competing.

Why can't Barack close the deal? Perhaps, the more voters see and hear him and his message, the less they like him and his message. That could be the true reason for your bleating that the Hillaryites need to head for the exits, stat; you fear that he is sliding backward. That is a distinct possibility.

Unless you're a paid hack or flack for Barack, Walter, stop with the faulty polemics and fawning apologia. You were a much better political writer before you became a partisan.
