Sean Wilentz spun a fantasy in his Salon piece about Clinton's electability. In the real world, it's Barack Obama who's more electable.
  • Pie-in-the-sky thinking

If Barack is so electable, it is amazing that in all the crucial big blue states even with outspending Clinton 3 to 1 and 4 to 1, he has not been able to deliver a win. Not only that, he has had a compliant press taking his side about everything and even suppressing many unflattering aspects of his candidacy. The media had been sitting on Rev. Wright...only after Youtube aired it, did they bother to let this out of the bag. If defies logic that Rev. Wright won't be a factor in the campaign...Michelle's comments will also. I would imagine the media was going to unleash the Rev. Wright thing after Obama won the nomination insuring a McCain win in November. It is pie-in-the-sky thinking to believe that Obama can defeat McCain with his patriotism having been questioned and his lack of experience...it would be an uphill battle because the Democratic base, except for the blacks, is cool to him. I think that says everything about his electability!
