Ghost of Reagan
Close your eyes and listen to McCain speak. Doesn't he sound like Ronald Reagan? The thing is that it won't be Bush's third term, it'll be Reagan's. While Bush is stupid, McCain is just in the early stages of either senility or some other age related problem. Which was the way Reagan entered the white house. Old video of Reagan as the governor of California and then his first term as president showed two different men. What McCain does has less to do with what he believes than what his advisors tell him. Again, that was the way Reagan operated. While Bush's handlers may have co-opted some of Reagan's policies, McCain will hew to them even more as he will be more dependent on his advisors than Bush was. (Bush just listened to Cheney and I doubt one person could handle the temperamental McCain.) So if you loved the 80's, get ready.
