On Super Tuesday, for the first time in my life, I will walk into the voting booth without knowing who to vote for. I blame John Edwards.

  • and now

what I've gleaned, in terms of trends in this big ole virtual stack of letters:

Only Hillary can take the fight to McCain and win,

If Hillary is the nominee McCain will roll over her,

    Obama is an inspirational figure,

    Obama is a pompous phoney,

vote with your heart, you numbskulls!

vote with your head, you numbskulls,

Rebecca Traister is an awesome and incisive writer,

Rebecca Traister and Salon have wasted my time, yet again,

It's important that a candidate helps you to feel good about yourself,

This self-absorbed preoccupation with your candidate "validating" you is insipid and childish-- this country has real problems.

Obama and Clinton are both bought and paid for by corporations,

    vote for Edwards,

    vote for Kucinich,

    vote for Mike Gravel...

did I leave anything out? Probably. I note that nobody said anything about just letting the GOP win so they can take the blame for impending economic collapse. Or maybe somebody did, and I missed it.

I would add: I think we should pick our presidents via a pie-eating contest: I'm confident Richardson could take Fred Thompson, and I doubt the practical effects of Richardson as prez would really be substantially different from either HRC or Obama. (Plus, the Huckabites would see their confidence shaken when a Godless Hollywood type beat their darling, and they'd wonder what they did to displease the big guy.)

    Now I'm hungry.

  • My dilemma exactly

Traister articulates my voting choice dilemma from start to finish.

Last week I stayed up late and wrote out my Pros and Cons for Clinton and Obama on slips of paper. Some reasons Traister didn't come up with, like - (and I know we're all avoiding bringing it up) - which one is most likely to bring out the crazed white guy with a gun? Since I am incapable of understanding crazed white guys in any shape or form, I guess it's a moot point anyway.

In the end, I couldn't bring myself to add up the points on my lists.

Ohio's primary isn't until March. I'm glad it isn't decided yet so I can think about it some more.
