On Super Tuesday, for the first time in my life, I will walk into the voting booth without knowing who to vote for. I blame John Edwards.

  • You cannot have both

The "Obama would make a great vice president" earworm was floated by the Clinton camp because they know people like Obama. She will not choose him as her VP. If you want him in the White House you must vote for him. Do not assume he will run again. And I am appalled by the previous poster's declaration that it is Hillary's turn and she "deserves" it. What, because she stood in line longer than Obama did? We're not handing out backstage passes at an AC/DC concert here, we're electing a president. Hillary feels entitled to the job, and that's ugly to see.

  • What scares me/I've already voted

for John Edwards, before he dropped out. Absentee, in the California primary. I'm not sorry I did, because I want his ideas to be heard.

But here's what scares me. John Cain will get the Republican nomination; Hillary Clinton will get the Democratic nomination. As much as I disagree with his opinions, Cain is that rare Republican who is an honorable man (unlike the dwarves running against him, and most of his predecessors--make that ALL). Where I live there are few Clinton haters. But I am aware that there are many elsewhere. A huge Clinton backlash might put Cain in the White House. I doubt he could dig us out of the disasters seven and counting years of Bush the Younger have brought down. Most specifically, what would he do about the erosion of the Constitution?

  • @ccatmoon

You asked what Barack Obama's "community organizer" days consisted of. Full details are here. Highlight: Getting thousands of people registered to vote. Crushing irony: This helped Bill Clinton carry Illinois when he ran in 1992.

I happen to think Clinton is the best candidate, but will of course support Obama if he's nominated.

I'm not making light of the history of African Americans, but in the present day it's still ok to make blatantly misogynistic remarks against the female candidate with little response. It's perfectly acceptable for Average Joe men of all races in their diners and watering holes to joke about the inability of a woman to "protect" us, or to shout, "Iron my shirt!"

Racism is not hilarious, thank goodness. Unfortunately sexism still is.

"If only Hilary had been married to OJ!"

The nerve of that thick-ankled, pantsuit-wearing bitch!

  • what scares me . . .

Whoops, forgot the Mc in McCain. I don't THINK I was thinking of the original fratricidal Cain--but maybe a fratricidal Republican who is hated by the likes of Rush .... ?

  • Barack is too inexperienced to be President

When I say future, I mean future - I don't want or need Barack in the White House now. If he would want to be Vice-President, that would be great. But, he needs more experience.

People who think that when it comes down to it, more Americans will vote for Barack in a general election are very naive. People might like him, and what he is saying now, but when it comes to the actuality - most people always choose security. If it is not "national security," it is the security of the known, tested leader, and more of the independents and centrists will vote for McCain. He is already ahead of Obama in the national polls.

Hillary is the only one who could show and prove to the country in debates with McCain that she is truly more knowledgable, qualified, and competent than he is. The country needs to see the truth - as many already do - see past all the distorted demonization of a caring, competent, and dedicated woman - and see reality - that she is truly the most qualified candidate to efficiently and effectively govern our country.

  • having both

I too am excited by this possibility. Clinton supporters tend to see this as feasible. When you get to many of the Obama supporters, they scoff at this idea. They are such Negative Nellies! :)

In reading through every one of these letters (yes!), I still see more animosity towards Clinton from Obama supporters than the other way around.

If this race were to be decided upon character-building experiences, Clinton would have it wrapped up.

  • more animosity toward Clinton, anonymous? I guess you didn't see this

    "Slick Obama

I'm on to this crook. He's a Radical Extremist Right-Wing Manchurian Candidate. He'll be a thousand times worse than GWB, an Uber-Neocon the likes of which we've never seen. Not only will he start WW3, but he'll drop the tax rate on the rich to zero percent, and give away what's left of our country to the transnational corporations. His nomination will spell the end of our great Republic. Lady Liberty weeps tonight.

    THIS MAN MUST BE STOPPED!!!!!!!!!!!

    -- Villemar"

    hmmmmmm.

  • Generally speaking

Generally speaking on blogs all over the internet, Obama supporters are much meaner and more negative toward Hillary than the other way around.

It does prove that they are the ones who really need "Hope" and "Change." I understand why it appeals to them so much - they don't have enough of it in themselves.

I live everyday with inspiration, and work for hope and change. I don't need someone else to give speeches about it for me. It's a way of life!

A lifetime of work and dedication inspire me much more than words.

Hillary truly deserves so much more respect!

I only hope that people see the truth!

When I say future, I mean future - I don't want or need Barack in the White House now. If he would want to be Vice-President, that would be great. But, he needs more experience.

That's precisely why we need him right now. He's not been in Washington long enough to become just another pol completely bought and paid for by K Street (like Hillary).

A vote for Hillary today is a vote for 30 years of a radical right-wing Supreme Court, and another 4 years of Neocons. She WILL lose against McCain. You don't have the luxury of making such a shitty gamble.

    Our only hope is Obama.

  • TO doloresflower re Villemar

Gawd, even I don't take that nutcase post the least bit seriously!

But look at all the other posts written by the Hillary supporters, who almost always have to defend themselves and their candidate from the vicious attacks by many mean-spirited, name-calling Obama supporters who continue to repeat the 90s right-wing anti-Hillary memes.
