  • obama kool aid drinkers

you know i am greatly disturbed at the leming like quality of the obama voters,do you really think he will be able to stand up to the attack dogs that the republicans will unleash ,especially after his totally stupid statement about giving drivers licenses to illeagals, thats a deal breaker with the average middle class non intellectual voter,he was pandering to the hispanic vote totally, but he is not your average politician, yea right hes worse. he wants power so badly he will do or say almost anything and saying the republicans are playing the race card wont help in november.his lack of judgement in having teddy endorse him, what a joke ,a alchoholic that left a young woman to drown and relied on his family to cover it up,lovely, for those of you either too young or with rose colored glasses go back and read about chappaquidick or for that matter when he was caught in the act with a woman on the floor of a washington retaurant, and you people talk about bill, give me abreak. oh yea i almost forgot as far as saint obama and healthcare is concerned i dont beleive a word he says, you know why ,one of his cheif policy advisors is tom dashule who just also happens to advise healthsouth, what a load of manure.go ahead dont vote for hillary, who is by far the most qualified candidate we have because you will guarantee a mcain presidency,if you are so smug as to underestimate him god help you, your all more naieve than i thought

  • Maybe he wasn't going anywhere

because media snipes like YOU kept going on and on about stupid crap that didn't mean anything, eh? Maybe if he'd been given half a chance from the beginning by media attention whores like YOU he might have been our candidate.

But NO. You all had to go for the glamour candidates. How can we assure our "place in history" (that's a laugh) by hitching our wagons to the one who'll win? How can WE get the most attention? How can WE make sure we're seen as cool?

No, Traister. Don't even fucking go there. If Edwards lost out, it's because of people like YOU. So quit your bitching and suck it up. You don't know who to vote for? Boo to the motherfucking HOO. You should've put your money where your mouth now is, FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.

No sympathy here, kid. Not the slightest iota. Go cry to your mama, you ain't getting any pats on the back here.

  • We need them both, in different places

I too have been on the fence whether to vote for Hillary, who has been my hero since before I could vote, or Obama, who astonishes me. Finally made my decision after reading the article at:

    http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/02/can-a-real-feminist-support-ob.php

I want Hillary putting her skills and brains to use in the Senate for the next twenty years. We need her there. We, and the rest of the globe, need Obama in the White House.

  • Please, woman...

For the love of all that is Holy, vote for Obama.

"I consider that the dashing Obama, and his youthful adherents, have the chance to take John McCain, while Clinton would bring every angry, resentful white guy out of his parents' basement to vote against her."

Not to mention the Christian Conservatives, insulted white housewives, people who still think "if you can't control your husband how can you control the country..."

I was going to vote for Edwards too, and I'd personally be totally comfortable voting for Hillary for President.

    But she'll lose the nationals.

    She just will.

People in this country HATE her in a way they do not hate Barack Obama.

The Supreme Court is at stake, which means not only choice under attack but our entire American system of checks & balances.

I'd love to see a female president too, but we can't afford to see a President McCain.

  • Think about November -- Obama will be Destroyed

Barack Obama is going to be destroyed by the republican machine by November. He has NO FOREIGN POLICY experience. Plus he'll be portrayed as a flip-flopper: he gave a speech against the war in 2002 when he wasn't even in the Senate dealing with those issues, then when he got to the Senate he voted to support the War. And he has committed to pulling immediately out of Iraq, which means he'll be portrayed as IRRESPONSIBLE.

Barack Obama is A TERRIBLE CANDIDATE.

  • Rebecca...Vote with your gut , your heart, your mind...

Vote with your gut, your heart, and your mind -- and don't let anyone make you feel guilty either way, and don't tell a soul if you don't want to.

This is a major decision, and it's an important decision.

I don't envy you your undecided status. I know how I'm voting.

    I'm voting for..

    • the person least likely to land us in more immoral wars
    • the person least likely to be influenced by special interests and lobbyists
    • the person who will give people of the Middle East, Africa, and around the world the sense that America is heading in an entirely new direction and making a break with its recent troubling past
    • the person who won't support amendments against flag-burning or support No Child Left Behind
    • the person who inspires people young and old to return to politics after years of cynicism and disgust with the old way of doing things
    • the person who has the ability to truly move people, to lead, to inspire, to motivate

I will be voting for Barack Obama. But I respect anyone who is voting for Hillary for their choice as well. I may not support her in the primary, but the nature of the situation is such that if she is the nominee, I will have to vote for her in November, without question.

The key thing, though -- GET IN THERE AND VOTE DEMOCRATS!!!

  • Been There

The Michigan primary, which party leaders and writers to Salon have called meaningless, caused me to decide about the candidates; I walked into the voting booth not knowing whether I'd vote for Hillary or "uncommitted," a de facto vote for Obama (I'd eliminated Edwards, who was still in the running and who I favored policy-wise, because he couldn't carry his own state in the last election and wasn't looking electable in the primaries). I voted for Hillary; here's why.

I'm 60 years old and I've seen some real bullshit from our presidents, certainly including the current occupant, but going back to the original Camelot guy, who turns out to have had hot pants and deplorable judgment. I don't buy the JFK/Obama comparison comparison because nowadays, JFK could not have withstood the scrutiny that we apply to our presidential candidates.

That being said, I don't think Obama has been thoroughly vetted for the position. Camelot is a self-comforting fantasy or outright delusion for liberals, who may waver if Obama turns out to be just another politician claiming to be something else. I don't know if there are skeletons in his closet, although he did come up through Chicago politics for Chrisakes. But that's the point: Hillary has been thoroughly vetted, for good or ill. She's not going to blow up when the campaign against the Repub candidate gets going. At stake in this election. lest anyone forget, is getting out of Iraq or continuing the discredited Bush policy of "victory" favored by McCain and Romney.

Hillary may indeed cause angry white guys to get out of their parents' basements to vote against her. But there are lots of angry women, minorities, working people and others who've been paying attention the last 7 years who can vote to tell McCain/Romney/Bush to fuck off. For pragmatic reasons, I bet on Hillary to accomplish this, even though Obama might prove to be up to the task, should he turn out to be the candidate. I just think the stakes are too high to take that chance at this point. Obama can do good work from here on and run again. I'd vote for him someday if he turns out to have even a passing resemblance to Lancelot.
