The Insult
The insult isn't being lumped into a catagory...political parties do that all the time. But to be told you don't matter...THAT is an insult.
As for the democrat white males...perhaps they need to wake up and smell the coffee. If THIS is what the Democratic Party thinks of you, perhaps you'd be better off voting Republican. At least they WANT your votes and want to HEAR what you have to say.

"At least they WANT your votes and want to HEAR what you have to say."
How about one out of two?
The Republicans have no need to listen to white guys, just as Democrats have no need to listen to African-Americans.

White Male America and Black America are both big losers in this election cycle!
Once the public prides itself in a value-free affirmative action Democratic primary complete with woman, black and hispanic top contestants, it is only a matter of time before the blacks are deluded into thinking that their monolithic support can possibly be rewarded."the black vote fully compensates for the Democrats' deficit among white men." so they decipher? So keep that black vote at 95% democratic while democrats change the focus of social policies and federal entitlements(the one political agenda which appeals to black leaders and civil rights activists)to the interests of illegal immigrants or undocumented WORKERS who have replaced Americans black and white in the labor forces of America to the cheers of democrats and blacks alike.Democrats add salt to the festering wound metered out in segments when black leaders fight in lockstep for provisional votes to be counted OR for unregistered voters without ID-cards to be counted to access their share of "welfare-related" programs for anchor-babies and newly-displacing workers performing jobs which black youth "should" be sequestered to perform instead of being mired in the narco-drug economy.
As the party of unions and brown-majority minorities Democrats have the edge with women(school-teachers) and hispanics(working-slavocracy in sweat shops). Bush-bashing about the Iraq War will yet be used as a wedge issue to force the electorate to go with anybody but a Bush-like leader who may NOT disagree vehemently enough about the surge and the timetable to end this Bush-War. Democrats will keep blacks and hispanics by demonization of Bush as a white war-monger, hater of Katrina blacks, and enforcer of borders which restrict parents of the anchor-babies(with War, anchor-baby-mamas,and Katrina-trippers to boot...how can they not win the white house and the Congress in 2008!)
Blacks and white males must intervene together as republicans who admire the potential of the free market instead of more Hilary-care antics to keep the stock market strong and reassure our allies abroad that trial lawyers and socialists will not! set the tone for American politics in the 21st century.White males must be protected from alleged racial castigation and stand firm for those values abandoned by the Bil-Hill-Jane Fonda-Sally Field- generations. Lovers of appeasement and open borders delude us all when they feel that blacks, women, or hispanics offer special attributes morally superior to the white males amongst us due to HIS prejudice and hatred of women and minorities. Democrats will ultimately be exposed for the race-baiters they are as thinking blacks and white males for coalitions to protect the very freedoms these democrats detest.

Some Facts on Why Edwards left the Senate.
"We saw through Edwards years ago. That's why he didn't run for Senate again; he knew he'd be shellacked and wanted to save himself the embarrassment"
Er, let's have a recent history lesson here, buddy. Edwards didn't run for Senate again because he was running for PRESIDENT. He didn't win the nomination but he did get picked to be John Kerry's running mate.
Maybe you were absent that election.
-
Litz
Sorry, but you have it wrong. Kerry was also up for reelection to the Senate that year, and he kept his name on the ballot in Mass. just in case he lost the presidential race. (Yeah, that's self-confidence for ya!)
Edwards could have done the same, but he knew North Carolinians had turned against him, hypocrite, stuffed-suit and pompous ass that he is.

Oh I think they DO
I think the Republicans DO want to listen to what the while male voters want to say. After all without them, where would their base be? Oh I'm sure they want to know what white male voters have to say.

welcome to our world guys ...
The insult isn't being lumped into a catagory...political parties do that all the time. But to be told you don't matter...THAT is an insult.
You think no columnist hasn't willfully (and obnoxiously) said that, say, the opinions of urban professional women do not matter? Not even three years ago anyone in a throughly liberal congressional district was told openly by Republicans that not only did their party not require our opinion, neither did our country! We were declared irrelevant, consigned to the historical dustbin, a vestigial organ of 60s Hedonism that the country had finally shrugged off in favor of a return to Values and Patriotism (read: chastity and keeping your mouth shut).
If this is the most insulting thing anyone has said about your demographic in print all year, then you have lived a very innocent and well-protected life. Nobody's called you a traitor this week.
Besides, I agree this article is pretty vapid and sloppy. But its really no worse than the clusters of "Is Obama *really* Black Enough for Black People" and "Do Women Hate Hilary Clinton Because they are Jealous of Her" shit that the media spouts any given election year.
As for the democrat white males...perhaps they need to wake up and smell the coffee. If THIS is what the Democratic Party thinks of you, perhaps you'd be better off voting Republican. At least they WANT your votes and want to HEAR what you have to say.
Heh! If anything the article is saying the exact opposite. The Democrats are OBSESSED with wooing white men, and maybe that's not worth their time.
Besides all white men are not NASCAR dads, which is the demographic that the article is really talking about.
-
Uh Huh
"Not even three years ago anyone in a throughly liberal congressional district was told openly by Republicans that not only did their party not require our opinion, neither did our country! We were declared irrelevant, consigned to the historical dustbin, a vestigial organ of 60s Hedonism that the country had finally shrugged off in favor of a return to Values and Patriotism (read: chastity and keeping your mouth shut)."
Yes, but Republicans have been saying that for a long time now. You said you were a Democrat...so that would be about the norm. But if you got the same response from the Democratic Party, would you find that more offensive?
Point is, the party claims to no longer need white male voters and it is wasting it's time trying. So white male voters are irrelevant. However, at least you can take heart that as a Democratic female, your voice will still be heard and your opinions count with the party.
Guess if a white male wants to get his opinions heard from the Democratic Party, he'll have to ask a white female to voice them for him.
