@ "anonymous"
Oh, and the reason Edwards doesn't stand a ghost of a chance in the South is because we're very good at identifying stuffed suits and phonies, and Edwards qualifies in spades on both counts.
Uh... yeah, like Bush and Gore? The South really had them pegged, didn't they. Thank God you didn't let that stuffed shirt Gore run the country! < /sarcasm. Sometimes things that seem obvious... turn out to be bu11sh!+.

SO LONG WHITE BOY
THIS ARTICLE IS RIDICULOUS. FIRST OF ALL, AT AGE 55., I DO NOT CONSIDER MYSELF A BOY AND I DO NOT APOLOGIZE AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY FOR BEING WHITE AND A SO CALLED "CHILD OF PRIVILEGE". NEEDLESS TO SAY I COULD CARE LESS WHAT AL SHARPTON THINKS AND I HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR A DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. I LEFT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN ABOUT 1980. THE DEMOCRATS HAVE BECOME THE PARTY FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT AMBITION. I DON'T BELIEVE THE PARTY WILL LAST BEYOND THE BABY BOOMER GENERATION AND THAT IT IS GASPING FOR LIFE NOW. GOOD LUCK WITH A NEW CONSTITUENCY.

Do the Republicans know this, too?
If the "Bubba vote" weren't a diminishing sector of the electorate, would the GOP be tripping over itself to steal the next presidential election by changing how electoral vote are distributed in California? Remember, that push is being financed by Texas GOP "Bush Pioneer" Bob Perry. It's clearly not about what's good for California, but what's good for the RNC.

Baby Grumpus
So, LucilleZ, if Rush Limbuagh or Glenn Beck went on an offensive sterotype-laced tirade about African Americans or Muslims, I guess you would find it hilarious because you're so educated that you know there it's not literal, which presumably makes it harmless.

Schaller is infected with latent racism
Let us see you write a column that is headed "So Long Black Boy" or "So Long Mexican Boy" in regard to any subject.
"So Long Muslim Boy" will get your throat slit. You know you are in safe territory beating-up on Caucasians. Very Brave.

GOOD 'OL BOYS AND RON PAUL
The fact Ron Paul has been so marginalized in the MSM, and everywhere else for that matter, is highly interesting considering his recent straw poll wins ahead of such MSM Darlings as Mitt and Rudy. Faux Nooz even had to cut away as the embarrassing results flashed across the screen for all America to see. Hannity even made false claims that people were voting more than once, a proven lie. The author tackles an interesting subject, but should have expanded the discussion to include wide ranging groups of people from all walks of life who have maybe, possibly, finally, had enough and really want something different than the prepackaged sameness and coruption they've grown to expect. Undoubtedly, 8 years of the most destructive events in U.S. history and heretofore unseen attacks on the Constitution and our basic freedoms and liberty, have enraged a wide spectrum of the population, including a whole mess'a good ol' boys. Something completely unique and groundbreaking is going on here, and it's made it's self known in reality, it just isn't being reported by the MSM. But then, what truth has been, for quite a number of years now? The word is getting out and can't be suppressed, and barring a Governmental shutdown of the internet, or suspension of elections, Ron Paul will be standing before the embarrassed GOP convention, with the most votes, and then what will the neocons and their minions do?

Precisely what's wrong with this article ... and Salon
I'd make a good Repooplican, except for the fact that I have a brain...
-- AnaHadWolves
This is the last sentence of an completely asinine, immature letter, but it typifies so much of the "progressive" Left. Remember, name-calling on the part of adults is a sign of regression. The entire letter offers nothing constructive, and it's based on nothing but caricatures and stereotypes.
And he has the nerve to sign off with a comment about his brain. [shaking head sadly]

Confusing piece of work, to say the least
I am white, male, Texan, 40, married 17 years, 3 kids, non-union, Christian (not fundie), $150K+ annually and never vote Republican. Wouldn't even consider it, given the complete mess the Republicans have created. There are more like me. Many more. Talk to them all the time in the unlikeliest of places such as the golf course, office, church......I wouldn't say I am in the majority in the circles I run in, but there is substantially more of us than you would think. Enough that you can't just close your eyes, click your heels together, and wish us away. Moral of the story? Stop the narrow generalizing and realize that like it or not, we are all more or less in this together.

Ya'll hold on a minute...
That ain't right. All the "Bubbas" that I know, and I know a whole herd of 'em, are just waitin' in the grass for the right time. Just like when you take your city slicker cousin "snipe huntin'" and you have them wait along the fence line waitin' for the little snipe to come running along. Then there is a big "Gotcha". I ain't seen no panderin' down her in God's Country and I do get around. The truth, as I know it, is that Bubba; Bubbett; Bubba's Mom & Daddy; my Daddy-in-Law; etc. are ALL gettin' tired or the same ole sh*$$t goin' down in the Beltway and in "Disneyland East". This next time ALL of our votes will be counted. Later, I got to go feed my free range chickens in the front yard.
fyi - "Bubba" is traditionally the youngest male in the family and the smartest.

Right
I'm a life long Democrat, and not exactly thrilled with the leadership now or the last 12 years. No guts they just let these religious slimey simpletons do whatever they wanted and still do.They let Dumbo lie to them when it was evident to many that is was a fix. They were to gutless to stand up and say so and still are.As far as Hillary goes, she will get my vote as a vote against Republicans. It's the lesser of two evils.
I know it will never happen but we would be a lot better off without either political party to prop up politicians and their culture of corruption. If there was a way to just let politicians run for office and just tell us what they believe it would solve much of the do-nothing -blame the other side politics that gives them so much shelter. The party's are also to blame for the non stop campaigning and money raising. The Democrats have shown they are not honest enough to put lobbying under very strict regulation,so highest bidder owns them.Puppet masters will continue to corrupt politicians, and the system, resulting in maximum profits for corporations and the continued looting of the middle class.I don't see the Dem's fixing that, their to chickenshit.I'll vote for them but won't expect a lot.So long.
