  • Good One!

    Bravo, Keith Olberman!

  • The previous post by "Anonymous"

is practically word for word identical to arguments you're seeing all over the internet today, showing how little originality is left in the neocon wing of the republican party. It's the smell of desperation hanging heavy and fetid in the humid July air.

Convicted felon. Convicted felon. Convicted felon. Just keep repeating this, because it's what Libby is - four times over. There are a lot of places where a person gets locked up for good after committing three felonies. I guess Libby must have gotten a special discount for committing them all at the same time.

The great majority of Americans understand what's going on here, "Anonymous". And it doesn't sit well with us.

  • who are you calling ignorant, ignorant?

Good gawd man, it must hurt your head to be so ignorant.

No one has been charged with violating the covert agents law because...

Scooter lied to the grand jury, obstructing the investigation.

Huh? How did allegedly lying to the grand jury change the fact that Fitzgerald knew who gave Plame's name but still did not charge him with a crime?

Be careful whom you call ignorant, and be careful which of the moonbat site talking points you just blindly pick up and throw around.

  • Allegedly?

    Convicted felon.

    Convicted felon.

    Convicted felon.

    Nothing "alleged" about it.

I know this hurts, "Anonymous", but it's for your own good.

  • Well said.

    Thank you, Mr. Olbermann.

  • My question for Keith Olbermann...

So, whaddya think; can the Mets' bullpen hold up in the second half of the regular season?

  • A Significant Point

To whoever the spineless person was who posted all of the quotes from Democrats like Hillary Clinton and John Edwards under the moniker 'Anonymous' (nothing says you really believe in what you are saying like refusing to put your name to it), those are great sound bites, and like all great Republican sound bites, worthless once you put them in context. The quotes from 1998 are centered around the administration's concern about stopping regular inspections. I'm also curious if all those quotes from 2002 and after would have ever been uttered if the speaker's had access not only to the officially published version of security reports - now proven to not only be incorrect, but rigged to downplay any inaccuracies - but also the internal discussions and source materials that went into the final draft.

If Britain knew that the information was specious at best, don't you think our Congress should have known too before voting? You can't be so angry and ignorant to believe that Congress, Democrats _and_ Republicans, would have voted the same way.

    Can you?

  • Anonymouse

Please help me out. I'm having trouble grasping your point. This "allegedly" thing is moot. It was alleged lying until Libby was found guilty of it. Now he is a convicted criminal. A jury of his peers listened to evidence and determined that he did, in fact, lie and obstruct justice.

Even Bush has said that he wants to respect the findings of the jury. Is Bush lying about that? Does he, in reality, believe the trial was a total sham? If that's what he believes he should say so. If he does believe that, but denies it, then he is a political coward unwilling to voice his true convictions for fear of consequences.

I asked you in another thread: please explain to us why what Bush did is good for America and Americans. Why should Joe and Mary Average feel relieved and reassured that they do not, in fact, live in a country with a two-tiered justice system as it now seems? I'm sure we would all like to hear an actual opinion from you, not this tired and tiring repetition.

    Please make your case.

  • Bush and Cheney - Criminals of the highest degree

    Dear Mr. Olbermann,

In commuting the sentence of I. Scooter Libby, whom a jury of his peers found to be guilty of obstructing justice, President Bush has again shown that he believes that he and his cronies are above the laws of this United States of America. Worse yet, Bush now refuses to disavow pardoning Libby, a step that would allow Libby to escape fines and probation for his criminal actions. It seems that Mr. Bush's main legacies will be pardoning his criminal friends, putting more to death in Texas' gas chamber than any governor in history and starting an illegal war which has resulted in the death of thousands of our children and friends and pehaps a million innocent Iraqis and to which a solution must be found by future Presidents and Americans.

It is time that Congress impeaches this President and Vice-President for their high crimes and misdemeanors against the citizens of the United States. Citizens must impress upon the other two branches of our Government that no one is above the laws of our great Country. Without action to control and punish law breakers in our society including those at the highest levels of our government, we risk falling from a society of law to country of anarchy, an outcome that it is easy for one to imagine Bush and his cronies would welcome. After all, such a descent would allow him to impose martial law making himself the Dictator that he has always wished to be.

Bush has no respect for the United States of America and it is time that the citizens of this country Bush and Cheney responsible for their actions. Our Republic is in peril and it is incumbent on our elected officials and judiciary to act, not next week or month or year but right now. The celebration of the birth of our Republic looms. Let's hope it is not the last such celebration we will have.

  • The first good July 4th speech I've ever heard.

Most of the time, July 4th speeches are patriotic drivel. People stand up and talk about our rights and responsibilities as the Founding Fathers defined them. Somebody dresses as Lincoln or FDR or somebody and reads an old speech. And then we eat our chicken and watch the fireworks.

It isn't even Disney stuff, folks. Have you ever seen "The American Adventure" at EPCOT? It isn't a sweet presentation about American triumphs. It shows the crap we went through - our abuse of the Indians and blacks, the First Depression (the one in 1929, not the third one we're about to enter) and the Vietnam Memorial. It shows America going through some pretty bad times, and coming out of it through the struggle and pain of individuals.

That's too much for July 4th speeches that are intended to give politicians and public figures a glossy look for their next election.

That's not what Olbermann did. he held Bush's feet to the fire. Alone in a mob of media whores pretending to be journalists, he stood for a principle. Which is more than the Democratic Party or its elected Congresscritters have been willing to do.

And as for this Hornet guy...and Anonymous who is probably Hornet too ashamed to show his face...Clinton is history. If you've been listening to her (you probably haven't) his wife is also history. Your buddy, the Murder Monkey, is our current President. He's the problem. He's the guy who took away your job, your economic future and the life of your nineteen-year-old you talked into joining the Army. The woods are burning, Hornet. And it isn't Clinton wielding the flamethrower.
