From Iraq to Scooter Libby, Bush and Cheney have broken America's trust and stabbed this nation in the back. It is time for them to go.
  • Bush and Cheney - Criminals of the highest degree

    Dear Mr. Olbermann,

In commuting the sentence of I. Scooter Libby, whom a jury of his peers found to be guilty of obstructing justice, President Bush has again shown that he believes that he and his cronies are above the laws of this United States of America. Worse yet, Bush now refuses to disavow pardoning Libby, a step that would allow Libby to escape fines and probation for his criminal actions. It seems that Mr. Bush's main legacies will be pardoning his criminal friends, putting more to death in Texas' gas chamber than any governor in history and starting an illegal war which has resulted in the death of thousands of our children and friends and pehaps a million innocent Iraqis and to which a solution must be found by future Presidents and Americans.

It is time that Congress impeaches this President and Vice-President for their high crimes and misdemeanors against the citizens of the United States. Citizens must impress upon the other two branches of our Government that no one is above the laws of our great Country. Without action to control and punish law breakers in our society including those at the highest levels of our government, we risk falling from a society of law to country of anarchy, an outcome that it is easy for one to imagine Bush and his cronies would welcome. After all, such a descent would allow him to impose martial law making himself the Dictator that he has always wished to be.

Bush has no respect for the United States of America and it is time that the citizens of this country Bush and Cheney responsible for their actions. Our Republic is in peril and it is incumbent on our elected officials and judiciary to act, not next week or month or year but right now. The celebration of the birth of our Republic looms. Let's hope it is not the last such celebration we will have.
