Happy 4th, America!
I was vacationing in an electricity-free cabin and forgot batteries to power the radio. Imagine my reaction as I heard Scooter's commuted sentence. My husband had to take over driving (we were passing the Kennebunkport exit and I wanted to egg the Bush compound) until I calmed down.
I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not. I wish I could say "Well, *now* people will see what an a@@ we have in the White House," but I can't (they won't).
All I can do is count the days, send some cash to the DNC and my favorite candidates, and push *hard* for change.
Saving this country is going to be up to us voters. No one (congress, the supreme court, the UN) is going to bail us out. We all need to speak up, speak out, and speak endlessly about the need for a president that is not part of Bush's machine. Lest we forget.
Thank you, Keith Olbermann, for speaking eloquently and with strength. I hope you changed some minds.
