I, for one, do not view the Tawana Brawley case as THE defining event for race relations in this country. But I do view it as a defining event for Al Sharpton's character. Yes it was 20 years ago but the mere passage of time doesn't automatically redeem anyone. That comes from an admission of wrongdoing and an apology, for starters. Sharpton has done neither.
