This article can be summed up like this: "I am a victim."
is so very accepting. What was it that Coulter said? Oh yeah, I remember now. More denial than can be measured in this guy. Or maybe all for some attention?
Liberalism isn't about protecting porn (or even gay porn). And its not left wing blogs that made the noteworthy difference between starring in a homosexual adult film and receiving an award at a conference that attacks half the country for not having values and cheered the use of the word "faggot" as a "schoolyard taunt".
I'm sorry Mr. Sanchez, but your understanding of American politics is sadly underdeveloped if you think your conservative friends will continue to embrace you, or that if you were liberal people would equate you with Obama.
Its seems you have learned nothing. Oh wait, you did learn something: BLAME OTHERS!
Because I have no idea what this guy is trying to say. It's just a whole bunch of sentences strung together that don't make sense individually, and obviously don't add up to a coherent whole.
For instance: "...those who complain about wire-tapping reserve the right to pry into my private life and my past for political brownie points."
I didn't realize performing in porn counted as someone's "private life." Next up: hypocritical liberals start prying into Tom Cruise's private life in Mission Impossible III.
This is deeply silly and embarrassing writing -- embarrassing for Sanchez and embarrassing for Salon, which should never have published it.
I mean, Matt. These people you accept awards from think you are perverted scum, and as soon as you wear out your usefulness to them, they'll drop you like a used rubber. For God's sake, man ... wake the hell up.
I think MAJOR ROD should consult with The Right Reverend Ted Haggart. They seem to have alot in common and obviously this fine young man will need some counseling after being exposed by these vicious Lefties--TSK-TSK-!!! I can see the Fox Banner now "HAGGART BRINGS MAJOR ROD TO GOD!!! Amen Brothers! Tommie27
Matt, you are what you are, and no matter how much shit you pile on, I'm not convinced there's a pony in there somewhere. Once a whore, always a whore. So it used to be for cock on film. Now it's for publicity. Well, congratulations. You're right up there with Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter. None of you have any talent except for fucking others in every manner of the word.
P.S.--I'd like to thank Joan Walsh for finally spending money on a new columnist who--intentionally or not--is just hilarious to read.
Forget the porn. People make mistakes, and can change their minds about stupid things done in the past.
But being gay is not a decision or a mistake. How you can reconcile the party you belong to, with its hateful, repressive and neanderthal attitudes about homosexuality, is just mind-boggling.
And to stand beside Ann Coulter, a bastion of venomous hate...
And now, to whine and play the victim about the fact that after you stood there, in front of a gay-hating conservative group, and a hate-mongering gay-baiter, people pointed out publicly that you have done gay films.
That is not being "outed."
Frankly, your past is the least of the problems.
You, Haggard, Foley, Gannon -- just another in a long line of hypocrites.
Perhaps I misunderstood you, but are you complaining that the "liberal" media isn't paying attention to you? Why should they when you're getting enough attention on the O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes? Please don't complain about not getting a place to air your views. Many liberal activists would never get that much attention, even from the "liberal" media.
Secondly, accept the fact that if you voice an opinion, there will always be someone who will disagree with you. Stop whining about it and over-generalizing about a whole group of people (liberals, Columbia students). Suck it up and make your argument, like everyone else.
Good luck in all your endeavors. Except for these bloggers, most of us liberals couldn't care less that you worked in porn. I'm proud of you for leaving a lifestyle that wasn't healthy for you and finding something that was good for you. That takes a lot of guts.
Cheers,
A Liberal
I am assuming he is about to be booted from the Marines? Conservatives didn't want gays in the military. They have one now, and a porn star to boot. Oh wait, is he gay if he was always on top?
How is it that all the male prostitutes end up with such close ties to Republicans? Gannon and the White House, Haggard and the escort, and now this guy at the CPAC. Hmmmm.
How is the Latino community for accepting gay male prostitutes? Will they still welcome him with open arms?
I have a feeling this guy has some serious issues. He is a walking contradiction. He gets to be whoever he wants to be, but he is sure keeping some strange bedfellows. The people he is embracing are the ones that want to hurt everything he is.
When does his unit go to Iraq?

I'm with you. This thing made almost no sense at all. I'm not at all sure what point or points he was trying to make...other than, as pointed out in another post, "I'm a victim." Something that is emphatically not true in this case.
The incoherence of this article is, in fact, a particular quality of the world of porn. There used to be a radio show on Free FM here in Los Angeles that featured three porn stars, one man and two women, and it was one of the strangest things you ever heard. All three of them sounded heavily medicated...and, in any case, almost totally incoherent. Every Friday night I'd tune in, not for titillation, god knows, but to hear what sort of train-wreck they'd create on the air that night.
This post reminded me of those shows almost immediately. same strange quality. The world of porn is a very odd place. That much you can say with certainty.
I will assume this was a classic case of Salon giving someone enough rope to do...well, whatever, with themselves, and Mr. Sanchez has certainly obliged.
I feel rather sorry for him. I have the sense that he doesn't understand the basic hypocrisy of his position... not to mention not understanding a number of other things.
