Cocktail Napkin at Applebees
Nice.
What will happen Tuesday? I'm all atwitter.
One House or Two? Don't mind if I do.

Will Someone Send this to the DNC?
Finally, someone using the Republicans take-no-prisoners tactics against them. If only the Dems would get this. It made me want to throw up when Kerry apologized for his joke. Does Busheny apologize when they say something offensive? No! They blame the person who took offense. And they have been winning elections this way since 1994. Sadly, the Dems aren't going to take the House or Senate this go-around, either, and with the kind of talk that I've been hearing from the prospective candidates, might as well give up on 1600 Pa. Ave. unless they make a full frontal assult like this on the Republicans.

Unfortunately
there are no Democrats with the stones to use this type of take no prisoners and offer no apologies rhetoric. This morning on Meet the Press, Elizabeth Dole made the outrageous claim that "Democrats are content with losing." She then engaged in a foxnewsian filibuster, the equivalent of putting ones hands over ones ears and shouting, to prevent anyone from rebutting her straw man argument. Schumer, Emmanuel or Russert should have challenged her rhetoric with the same outrage and indignation we saw over Kerry's foot in mouth moment, even if they had to do it after a commercial break. O'Reilly would have just killed her microphone. The lack of civility and decorum in the remark reminded me of Jean Schmidt's Murtha is a coward speech on the floor of congress. Under the circumstances, "You're completely full of shit." is just about right.

Excellent...but...
Would this had been published two weeks ago.
After the "Pew" story, I have the same feeling I had when "Crash" won the Golden Globes: "These assholes are gonna take the big prize!" Aaaarrrghhhh!

The dems are smarter
have better satirists and make much better points than the repubs and absolutely no one is listening but those already converted. The democrats supposedly in power are spineless and useless. Kerry apologizing, ridiculous. This whole mess is just completely disheartening. There was a time when I was happy to see someone like Bill Maher or Jon Stewart or Garrison Keillor hit this administration on target, but what does it get us. Democrats pandering to the religious right, Hillary Clinton taking sides against Kerry. Much as I despise and condemn this administration for having such courage in their misguided convictions, I am beginning to feel the same way for the democrats who don't even have the courage to call themselves liberal. No one is going to tell the republicans they are full of shit. They're going to pander to people who hate them anyway while the haters continue to show their contempt for us liberals. I feel we can't win.

That...
f'n ROCKED.
Time for Democrats to get some teeth and tear into some Republican ass.

Can we put a moratorium on the word 'troops'?
I'm tired of hearing people use the word 'troops' to describe U.S. military personnel. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of the stormtroopers from Star Wars. The singular form ('troop', as used in this article... is that even grammatically correct? I thought a 'troop' was a group of soldiers, not an individual) is even more cringe-inducing. Can we call them 'our soldiers' or 'our men and women', or really anything else, instead?
Okay, I'm done nit-picking now.

Another New Rule:
New Rule: Draft all registered Republicans, especially Republican members of Congress. Ship them all to Iraq. Solves several of our nation's problems.

Wimps over Bullies
Mr.Maher you should be the talking points co-ordinator for the Democrats. Why haven't they done this kind of back in your face counter punching? It's not like were dealing with a normal administration where both sides have legitimate but different issues. This version of the GOP has morals that are one notch below child molester and some of them are child molesters. Kerry apologizing, I still can't believe it's true. I'll vote Democratic simply because I'd rather have my boss be an invisible wimp than a tyrant who beats me every day and pockets the company profits.

Maher NAILS it
Maher NAILS it.
This election is about the destiny of this country. Don't let it slide.
Fight the mindset: who cares when you are "free" and have "Desparate Housewives" and NASCAR?

What's Bill Maher Smoking?
Democrats? With backbone?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Bill Maher must be smoking chronic laced with peyote to imagine such a thing.

Let's try a few edits
Mr. Mahrer has some good ideas, but I suggest sanitizing out the "shit" and "wet dreams" and "assholes." Start spewing this kind of vulgarity, and you lose most everyone over 50 and most women - that's over 95% of all the voters right there.
When Mr. Maher says 1) When they say, "Democrats will raise taxes," you say, "We have to, because some asshole spent ...", try "some idiot spent ..."
Instead of 2) When they say, "The terrorists want the Democrats to win," you say, "Are you insane? George Bush has been a terrorist's wet dream ..., substitute "dream come true."
Point 3) is perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Instead of 4) When they say that actual combat veterans like John Kerry are "denigrating" the troops, you say, "You're completely full of shit" try something like "That's absolute nonsense" or "Where were you during the Vietnam war?"
It's too bad the Democratic Party has been unable to hook up with Mr. Mahr, or Jon Stewart, or Steven Colbert, or, as far as I can tell, any professional comedian. Good comedy could make the most negative ads something that people would be glad to see, and would be repeating to friends and co-workers.

Maher needs to do more!
If Bill Maher really wants to help the liberal cause, he needs to stop writing his stupid "rules" books and get back to writing books about real issues. He is a brilliant man with alot of great ideas, it would be a shame, with the state of our country being what it is, for all of his books from here on out to just be his "rules". I live in the red states, and I can say without hesitation that all the stereotypes are true! So few people who live in New York or Los Angeles seem to understand this, Bill Maher is one of the few who does! The country needs his wisdom now more than ever and it's time he got back in the game and started telling those homo hating, gun totting, bible thumping, NACAR loving hillbillies how the world really works!
