Maybe Osama Has Finally Found True Believers Among Americans
It is beyond revolting to compare those who died at the hands of the terrorists on Sept.11 to those who were killed in the continuing fight, including the collateral damage casualties, to prevent such massacres. Consequently, Miss Walsh who unsuccessfully tried to argue for such moral equivalence is still not cognizant of the basic underpinnings of the issue at hand. America's supposedly imperial aspirations and staunch support for a fair resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts are not justifiable factors for the deliberate massacre of thousands of civilians. To think that America is to blame for all the conflict to date as a result of the Bush Administration's stance in dealing with international terrorism and the seeding of democracies, is atypical for armchair experts to cowardly to stand-up and fight and bleed for all the good causes that America stands for, as well as the bad ones. Good or bad, America is a country where a select few can ever offer such courage and sacrifices in stark comparison to a majority of elitist mindset who profess the soft and tender approach to dealing with the problem of Islamic extremism. Miss Walsh, I would readily nominate you to personally negotiate a truce with Osama Bin Laden, if you had the guts to do so. Hunkering down, pandering, and persuasion are more to your liking. At 37, I am a bit too old to join the USMC, but I recently reenlisted in the National Guard, essentially to put my money, where my mouth is. Try that instead of your bickering and whinging

Liberal Rhetoric
It completely amazes me how one sided all of you see the issues of security and global terrorism. Do you not realize the doctrine of Islamic Extremism is to completely destroy everything, everyone, and any record of the West? This is a global war that will soon encompass much of the world's population and will pit Christians, Jews, Arabs, and Muslims against the terrorist forces of extreme Islam. They have no regard for life, by arguing about how the Bush administration 'united' the entire world against the U.S. is completely absurd. Being the sole superpower brings unprecedented responsibilities. Being economically, politically, and socially superior to every other nation on the face of this Earth brings unfathomed jealousy from extremists around the globe. I don't see how you can not realize that this is a war of attrition, and it will be a war to the end. Our very survival as a nation depends on realizing the great threat posed by these extremists and all those that support them. Afghanistan. Iraq. Iran will be a target sometime in the future for a nuclear armed Iran will not be allowed by the U.S. nor our Isreali allies. Stop your liberal bullshit and realize that this is a fight to the end. While almost 3,000 of our brave soldiers may have died during the Afghanistan and Iraqi Occupations, who knows what the toll may have been had we not gone to war? It's a sad thing that it's going to take another 9/11 except on a much larger scale before the left stops bitching about the loss of civil liberties and blah blah blah..... Is that extra hour spent at the airport for increased security measures that much of a hassle? Are secret CIA prisons where our intelligence officers garner information to help foil new attacks such a terrible idea? Let me as this question, when your child is blown up inside his school then are you going to stop your bullshit whining? It's a terrible thing that the tragedy of 9/11 was not enough to wake the entire nation up to the fact that we're in a war for survival....

Only in America can we find such whining, lazy, unpatriotic ignorant 'know it alls'. Ever think we don't know half of what is going on BECAUSE of the Media and their big mouths? While I too don't like what is going on I am not going to sit on a high horse judging. No wonder other countries laugh at us now. We are the court jester whiners of the world. The people with the biggest opinions are the least informed. Most that mention the tragedy of 9/11 are not even from New York.
Please please please let me buy you a one way ticket to Iraq/Iran/Russia? After one month and you and people like you would be able to appreciate America and all we are striving to keep.

How is total defeat of the extremists possible if our superiority generates extremism? By your logic, there are two ways to end this conflict. One is to wipe out all the individuals all over the world who might harbor resentment of the US. The other is to become economically, politically, and socially INFERIOR to other nations so we are no longer a target of resentment.
Hmm, by most measures, Bush's policies are increasing the number of individuals who feel resentful of the US, so I guess that's not the tack. But, with an increasing national debt, equation of dissent with treason by our leaders, and rising inequality - thanks to his policies - he must be taking option 2.

It Ain't About Being A Liberal
It's about being a conservative. A real conservative. One who abhors this administration's use of convicted felons in key policy positions. One who abhors what has happened to the party of Barry Goldwater. One who abhors G. Gordon Liddy and everything he claims to stand for -- this week and probably the next.
Real conservatives listen to both sides of all issues and agree to allow the democracy that our founding fathers crafted to do the work it was designed to do. Real conservatives do not divide the country against itself by designing wedge issues that take the place of real policy issues.
Real conservatives vomit up the likes of Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz and Karl Rove. Real conservatives like Marine General Smedley Butler repudiate all manifestations of fascism in all its forms.
No real conservative flinches at the likes of a mongriel horde threatening to break down our doors. Real conservatives, like Abraham Lincoln, know that the only mongriel horde we need ever be concerned with is the one which operates within our own borders.
The towers were downed through the complicity and duplicity of the Bush Crime Family and their cohorts. The evidence is there now. What I sensed on 9/11 five years ago has found a voice and it will shatter the false patriotic front of the present administration.
Only then will the victims of 9/11, their families and the people of New York receive the peace and reconciliation that they deserve.
