Is airport security futile?

First it was tweezers, now mascara. Every penny spent confiscating makeup is a penny that could go toward law enforcement -- where it really matters.

    MEANWHILE AT TERRORIST HQ

The people who hate us must be laughing hard right now.We come across as such idiots.

    After reading the book:

"Dangerous Waters: Modern Piracy and Terror on the High Seas" by John Burnett (Paperback - Sep 30, 2003), I'm convinced the next attack will be by ship. In the book I was shocked at not only how easy it is to steal a ship, but that it happens all the time in international waters.

It's easy. Load a freighter with explosives, or better, hijack a large oil carrier, sail into Long Beach, CA and BOOM.

Meanwhile, you cannot go on the plane with that bottled water. Sorry. Homeland Security.
