Bush's feeble "family values" ploy is just a dutiful payoff to his base -- and it won't make much difference in November.

  • Separate marriage and civil unions (religion vs legal)

There is no LEGAL argument to not allow gays to marry. Just because it makes some people uncomfortable, like the idea of a dick in the ass (which is not exclusive to homos btw), "uncomfortable" or so-called "immoral" is not synonymous with "illegal." A consenting, adult (usualy 18), tax paying, law abiding citizen has every right to choose the best way to live as any other.(though straight non-law abiding citizens are allowed to reproduce all they want) The problem is that marriage is not only a religious institution, it provides federal and state tax and other monetary/legal benefits. It is illegal to give some citizens these legal benefits and not others. Leave marriage where it belongs, in the church and allow every citizen the legal contract of a civil union.

Divorce, the true UN-marriage, should be illegal if the fucking institution is so "sacred." Also, if we're talking about kids (having them or concern for them) - then rapists, child molesters, divorcees, couple who don't want to procreate, couples past child-bearing age should not be allowed to marry. also, single people should not be allowed to adopt. And just because some believes in the fantasy book called the Bible, doesn't mean everyone does. Religion has no place in a legal argument.

Hey Frank, and all you other slippery slope idiots, when you get that long-awaited proposal from that hot goat or beautiful horse, I'd LOVE to come to the wedding.

Also, as far as polygamy, if a group of consenting adults want to marry, who cares?
