I've read all the postings here and see only about 5 that mention voter fraud. The only way to impeach or to at least restore checks and balances is for the Dems to win back Congress. That will not happen if the Dems continue to ignore the damning evidence that election fraud exists and, as many believe, resulted in Bush's "win" in 2004 (see Mark Crispin Miller's book, "Fooled Again").
As a student of the theory behind Malcolm Gladwell's book, "The Tipping Point", I would love to have Garrison Keillor become the voice of the growing movement for transparency and accountability in our elections with a "sticky" message that says something like: One person, one vote -- ON PAPER!
The sooner the better!!!
Mr. Bush is hoping that he will be able to quiet the noise coming toward him from every direction by this awakened sleeping giant who is the silent majority. The usually quiet persons who have make every attempt to keep a safe distance between themselves and the workings of government. But like the masses in the 1960 years, they have been stepped upon with a heavy foot in the back of their pants, and by God, they don't like it. They are all now wondering why the government must bother them in their reverie. What is the problem down there in "Washington" that has to come into our living rooms and newspapers and cause us to believe things are heading in the wrong direction? Why with all the money we have been forced to send to them, do they need to continue to bother us with their speechifying about how we have failed to pay attention. If then we have to up and say something if will not be pretty. It will be downright noisy.
From now on I will think of Garrison Keillor
as "Mr. Danger," an arrogant and dangerous man. Let's hope no one like him (Jimmy Carter II) ever gets into office and brings us Church Commission II.
San Francisco's supervisors jumped into national politics Tuesday, passing a resolution asking the city's Democratic congressional delegation to seek the impeachment of President Bush for failing to perform his duties by leading the country into war in Iraq, eroding civil liberties and engaging in other activities the board sees as transgressions.

Love it, Garrison. Never stop writing and singing. One small thing: you forgot to mention Iraq's oil, the greasy-kid-stuff that even the mis-leading current White House occupant says we are addicted to. Don't you love the way Exxon-Mobil-Shell-Hell are reaping outrageous profits for their investors? What about us unfortunate users of oil products? I think it was Friedman at the NY Times who wrote recently that he actually hoped that oil would hit $100 or more/barrel because that might be the only thing that would pressure the public to stop driving until the car companies work faster and smarter in building alternative fuel vehicles. How about some real competition for the terrific Toyota Prius from the slugs in Detroit?
Decades ago, for a very short time I worked on the Gulf Oil account for a big ad agency in Houston, TX. Gulf, of course, was swallowed by Chevron several years back. At the time, the arrogant attitude of Gulf's senior marketing management toward the buying public was expressed by their wondrous acronym 'MILFOS' for gasoline purchasers (all of us). MILFOS stood for 'Miserable Little Fuckers On the Street'.
The elitist former oilmen in Washington, DC must be given a one-way trip back to their isolationist ranches in Texas and Wyoming.
All the best to you.
God Bless you, sir. I have always known you were a superb writer and that your heart was always in the right place. But you have outdone yourself. What you say about torture is what I've been trying to say, what I do say, at every opportunity.
Thank you for showing us the path back into the light.
I am becoming increasingly concerned that Mr. Bush is exibiting the symptoms of Korsakov's disease, the result of chronic alcohol abuse. Are we seeing a man who is utterly inarticulate or one who is confabulating. Mr. Bush's inattention to detail indicates memory impairment.
I challenge Mr. Bush to submit to MRI and PET brain scanning and to publish the results. Do we have a fully functioning president or an impaired easily manipulated puppet.
Impeach Bush yourself! This is much more than just a petition.
There's a little known and rarely used clause of the in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.
That's where we come in. In addition to the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.
You can initiate the impeachment process yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in.

The day the nation demands impeachment is almost upon us. This coming Thursday (Oct 12), sacks and sacks of mail will arrive in congress demanding impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).

STOP WAITING FOR YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO ACT FOR YOU.
