I find it refreshing that, as an immigrant to this country, you "protect" (America) her with an over zealousness that rivals our founding Fathers. But, do not dismiss these abuses in its entirety. Some of these poor souls may be guilty, some however, may not. That is for the military and civilian Iraqi authorities to decide. Yes, in the torture arena, shaming a person is probably the least hurtful, but if it is not legal to do so, then OGA’s or soldiers should not be doing it. You've stated previously that America's judicial system is one of the differences that make our country great, and I have to agree. But we must respect those laws, even those that are unpopular or harm our cause. We can always change them, if we get enough support from “We the people.” These soldiers were wrong - plain and simple. My problem is when the press puts our fellow citizens in danger through irresponsible journalism – which I believe Salon willfully did in this case. Probably for the $$$ (and they say the right is greedy)
It is also important to have an exchange of views in this country, for that is what truly makes America so great, but we can not lose our compassion for all oppressed people, including the possibility of these men in the photo's that we may be oppressing (if they are innocent), but they will all get their day in a court of law, and because of that, we can find some comfort. Hundreds have been freed to date, and many more will follow.
Lastly, use your own name for your paintings, not Picasso, not Bonnard, not Gris, not Boccioni, not Janco, or any other abstract artist; it is your name that counts; and it’s the one mark you leave on this earth that will be remembered for eternity (Hopefully in a good way!).
For my next post though, I think I will sign with my dog’s name, after all, he is smarter than most these liberals that post on these boards.

Personally, I Believe You would make a great President of the United States! But I also understand that the Country needs as much great Presidents than She needs great Knights, Soldiers, Governors, Police Officers, great Reporters, Intellectuals, Lawyers, Judges, Senators, Writers, Teachers, Citizens, etc etc. Not Teachers of Lessons, Men and Women!
You are "Fed up with Uncle Tom" and I am fed up with the European Arrogance and Ignorance (forget about Iran!). I judge people by two simple questions and the answers They give me: Are you pro America, are you pro Israel? Whether Arabs, French, Blacks, whites or Jews! I can forgive them for their stubborness, but what I don't do is loosing my precious Time listening to them, nor hanging out with them! That's why I have dumped all my past acquaintances, have met and kept few Superior Friends! These are my real Family in the same way that America and the Idea of America have always accompanied me in my Dreams and gave me Hope for a better Future! Wherever I was! Ironically, during my childhood, America was closer to Iran than to Europe! Then it stopped suddenly! And I couldn't find Her nowhere - only thru on and off! (The worst time was in the 90s: the only image of America reaching our borders was CNN - including larry king! -, which Image was even more depressing then than it is now!; MTV Europe; and Hollywood). Or the dummiest American soap opera's, courtesy of the French TV! Even worse, in French!!! I didn't had anything to loose by moving to Iran, one step farther into Blackness! But thank to UBL and his Arrogance, America is back on the International scene, ready to sacrifice again its own Blood (forget about the Money, The US Deficit could be simply deleted in one Stroke!) to save a Bleeding World, all SLAVES in the Hands and Control of Crazies!!!
Yet Legitimized thank to The Institution of the United Nations! Thank God for America being there to police the UN and teach them Human Rights Violations!!!
If the communication between Europe and America was working well, why It took me 1994 to discover Jean-Michel Basquiat! Six years after he passed away!?? Too late for me to meet him! Europe skipped Lou in the same way! Or was it just my own bad Luck??? When he was back in the European news, I was already in Iran! But I found them both, a little bit in Iran, a little bit in Europe! I found them when I found God! Now they are both well and alive for me! I see them in my PAINTINGS, magically! They appear with my Brush strokes, out of my Subconscious, but out of my control!!! so I am after all LUCKY! It didn't happened overnight! It took almost half my Life!!! When I heard on link TV that the new Abu Graib pictures were published at Salon.com, I decided to support Salon.com by becoming a premium member and I am even more impressed that the truth is out here. Never got this from the local media.
I wonder if the Danish and other newspapers who promptly published the inflammatory cartoons had the same "freedom of expression" arguments and actually published the Abu Graib atrocities which were real photos and videos and not drawn cartoons or what was in someone's head?
Are we civilized? I am ashamed that we have a government that would condone this kind of behavior - Guantanamo is still open...shiver!
