The leftist propaganda of hate will come back to haunt them in the next few elections. Any, if any, victories gained in a few house seats will be overtaken in the long run because of publications like yours, producing sickening photos as these, which only flame and incite our enemies, the uneducated, and the liberal crackpots that make up a majority in the media dominated East Coast. When 83% of all counties in America voted for our president, anyone with the simple ability to think critically would be forced to ask why? Instead, what I hear on liberal radio is that the Americans who voted for Bush are stupid. That’s the response of a critical thinking, presumably educated, left wing? I daresay it is you who misjudge the American populace, just as liberals knew, without a doubt, Sen. Kerry would win the last presidential election.
What you fail to realize now, and what liberals failed to realize as far back as 1980, is that our country has had a revolution without a shot being fired. No longer was a government that has been largely dominated by Democrats, in all branches of government, the answer. This trend continued into the 1990’s with the Republicans seizing control of the House, and then the Senate for the first time in over 30-40 years. A majority of Americans and conservatives were tired of picking up the slack for those that take legitimate entitlements that were full of promise and turning our government into a welfare state with an ever growing domestic entitlement program(s) that often benefit those that refuse to help themselves. They were tired of watching our national pride take a beating from the world that basically said that America was lazy, doesn’t mean anything anymore, and doesn’t stand up for what’s right like they did in the 1940’s, 1950’s, etc. The word “on the street” was America has lost its will to take the hard road even when it is right. Ronald Reagan began to change all of that with a selective use of political and military will that stood Uncle Sam back up as a force to be reckoned with in every arena.
What happened then, will continue to reinvent itself today because of the liberals mantra of hate and their obvious void of nationalism except to say, “ I love America” without having to actually sacrifice anything for its betterment. The obstructionist party label fits the liberal Democrat moniker to a “T.” I frequently come across catchy liberal labels for our current President or administration, such as; Nazi, Fascist, Dictator. I have never seen a national polarization between parties that continues to deepen every day, like it does today, in over 40 years.
You call Abu Ghraib photographs journalism. I say your publication is a wicked, traitorous, piece of trash dominated by those who prefer to live in a socialist society, or perhaps even a communist society. That way we all can be “equal” and have a fair share the American dream without putting forth the effort to attain it. It amazes me that, statistically speaking, an Immigrant has a better chance of opening their own business and becoming self sufficient than someone who was born in the good old U.S. of A. Why? Because even though they have been through a personal hell to get here, they love what this country offers them. Unlike most countries, America affords them an opportunity; an opportunity that a majority current citizens forego. So they don’t complain about unions, wages, healthcare, because they don’t rely on anyone but themselves.
One more thing before I waste anymore of my time convincing those who will not think for themselves. The aid and comfort you give our enemies is EXACTLY what they want. They want the American people to LOSE their WILL to fight. The North Vietnamese Generals have came out and said recently that they counted on the media to “provide an environment that makes soldiers and the American public” at odds with the government. Unlike WWII, you do have a much larger FREEDOM to do want you want with your reporting. I would hope that you would continue to ask the hard questions, but don’t put our MEN & WOMEN in a harder spot by inciting our enemies and INCREASING their WILL to fight.
As you so aptly paint a picture blaming the government for thousands of deaths by our soldiers, it is you who should be blamed when you INCITE our enemies, give them COMFORT in believing their JIHAD is just, and then promptly detonate a suicide bomb killing our soldiers and innocent Iraqi children.
Shame on you Salon – May you see the consequences of your actions up close and personal one day by attending the funeral of one of our brave Warriors.

The Republicans are in control. The corporate media, TV, radio, papers are owned by 5-6 big, rich corporations who do nothing but carry water for the administration. They get their RNC talking points every day and all spew the same lies. And people like you beleive them. Maybe you aren't stupid, but you are WILLFULLY ignorant.
The so called "liberals" - anyone that doesn't agree with this administration or anyone who deigns to tell the truth- have more loyalty to this country than the treasonous lot you voted into office. I guess you forget that Dick Cheney (AKA 5 deferment Dick) dodged Vietnam as did his boss (AKA DUI and proud of it) W.
We will not be a free people much longer unless more people wake and see what damage these ingrates are doing. I am fed up with dullards like you who can't get their mind around the fact that just because "liberals" don't agree with this administration's policies, we somehow don't support the troops. We want our troops home, not maimed, killed and fighting in a war started by greedy, oil hungry rich guys. This war had NOTHING to do with 9/11 or terrorism. They are building permanent bases in Iraq since W closed the base in Saudi Arabia at the behest of the Saudis who comitted the 9/11 acts of terror.
Our foreign policy for the past 50-60 years has made us a target of hatred. Your imbecelic President Reagan made things worse with his Iran Contra debacle. Other presidents - both Republican and Democrat - haven't helped either.
I could go on but I know that trying to reason with people who watch FOX news and listen to Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly will never get it. I don't want to waste any more time with you.
If you are a Republican, I'd be more concerned with these neoCONS taking over your party. That would be worth being upset about.
