Joe Lieberman undercuts his wife

If he really cared about women's health, Hadassah's new cause, he'd get out of the way of healthcare reform

Joe just continues fervently thanking God he wasn't born a woman and doesn't give it another thought I'm sure

If he had ever cared about authentic issues of concern to real people, he wouldn't have done many things. He wouldn't have, for example, bellowed in such outrage regarding an unfortunate human error when so many authentic issues were at stake at the time. His pilloring of Clinton may have won him the VP position in Gore's desperate efforts to salvage his own political career, but it cost him any real claims to morality. It is grossly immoral to crucify other people for such errors while saying nothing regarding truly heinous crimes against the poor. What more harm would McCain have done had he won, and Lieberman would have been party to those as well. As this article pointed out, Lieberman enjoys the option of re-locating to Israel if by some wild chance he ever needs expensive health care. Most poor Americans have nowhere to get decent care, no matter what.

i wonder what joe really thinks of israel's healthcare system

good for israelis but not americans? or, more likely, irrelevant since the insurance companies that give him campaign contributions don't give a flying about israeli healthcare.

Weak article, Joe

Agree with the other poster that suggests Hadassah's activity has little to do with deep convictions.

Regardless, a simple look at corporate sponsors on the group's website shows that health care providers are major donors -- not insurance companies, but groups with vested interest in reform. Providers don't want price controls and therefore oppose any public health care that would set prices or pay anything less than retail -- like a public option would.

Oh that evil non-Democrat

I'd wager a good sum that Salon wasn't writing one tenth as much about Lieberman back when he was a Democrat. Just like you guys don't seem to bust on Arlen Specter anymore. Soooo one-sided.

You liberals are so transparent you're invisible.

Bitter Little Leiby

Joe Leiberman will do ANYTHING for attention - including supporting the Republicans in 2010. He's a bitter little liar who does work any angle for money - including his wife. She doesn't get paid... she's committed to women's health. About as committed as Joe is to anything that doesn't hand him an envelope. He's proven himself to everyone. They look pretty silly in this picture. It's a good thing they don't have enough combined influence to do harm. Healthcare vote or not - he's not going to win re-election. Now that's worth all the putting up with them. The guy truly has no country.

I love how brain dead right wingers post on left wing sites because we won't kick their faces in

They take advantage of our humanity, but I think it's wearing thin. I'm sick of the half literate, half conscious troll things posting where they can't comprehend even ten per cent of what they read. They really ought to continue their circle jerk with limpdick and crew on the radio, on faux, whereever, just keep off sites you can't begin to understand.

Nancy Pelosi Undercuts our Country

An example of lying skunkery:

Pelosi Breaks Pledge to Put Final Health Care Bill Online for 72 Hours Before Vote

TWS: Madam Speaker, do you support the measure to put the final House bill online for 72 hours before it's voted on at the very end?

PELOSI: Absolutely. Without question.

November 2010, can't come soon enough.

Reforming the reformers

The simplistic assumption that anyone who opposes healthcare reform, at least in its current (non) form is somehow a bad news Bear, or stupid, or part of some Limbaugh-led right wing cabal, shows just how out of touch some on the Left in this country have become.

All those opposing this poorly articulated, disorganized, and now toothless mainly political effort to achieve a very worthwhile goal, aren't all "conservative wingnuts". In fact, a good case can be made that currently more weak simplistic thinking here is owned by the naive Obamaniacs who feel that anyone daring to oppose anything this Administration proposes is akin to heresy. (and I voted for the guy!)

The reality here is that we badly need healthcare reform in this country, no question. However, any meaningful program must contain the following elements: 1. an unambiguous option for those who can't afford to purchase their own health insurance (stop waffling on the public option!) 2. A mechanism to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and incentives of our currently highly dysfunctional fragmented non-system including support of more uniform evidence-based practice and 3. Serious and immediate attention to reform of the toxic medical malpractice mess.

It's clear that the only reason this Administration has steadfastly refused to incorporate this last issue is its campaign finance-fueled indebtnedness to the nefarious trial lawyers' guild who continue to make personal fortunes from the current "system" which they bleed for 40-50% of all settlement dollars. That in turn has seriously weakened potential support for current reform proposals among those most involved on the front line, i.e. doctors, nurses, and healthcare administrators, who otherwise polls have shown would be highly supportive of reform efforts.

Joe Lieberman is scum.

And a slimeball too. Thanks Connecticut

Friday, November 6, 2009 03:47 PM

real evil

By accepting bribes from the health insurance companies and then turning against health care reform, Joe LIE-berman has crossed the line from the "look the other way" evil of the typical politician and is now and outright evil being.

The LIE-man now supports the on-going holocaust of tens of thousands dead each and every year from lack of health care.

Write Komen

I get emails, requests for money from Komen.

I think I need to write them and ask about their use of Hadassah as a spokesperson.

Friday, November 6, 2009 11:01 PM

just curious

Does Hadassah's concern for women's health extend to the women of Gaza who were shot and bombed during the invasion of Gaza along with their children and the children's grandmother's? Does her concern extend to the women of Gaza who are now starving and being denied medical care for exercising their democratic right to elect a government? How about the teenage girl in Gaza who was beheaded by an Israeli shell while taking shelter in her bedroom? Any concern from Hadassah for her? I thought not. These hypocrites both make me sick. They're corrupt and clueless. Don't they know they can't take their loot with them when they go? The shroud has no pockets and the worms won't care who they are or who they thought they were. Only good deeds survive the grave and in that department they're paupers.
