Oh, my. It's not the odor of the hides of cows we smell from Sarah Palin.
By the way, cattle ranching isn't the first thing we think of when we think of Alaska. Or couldn't you think of anything manly having to do with fish?
Yep. Franken has knowledge and wisdom.
Palin? She has hip-huggers and makes damn sure everyone knows it.
And, BTW, why do you think your grandkids are toast because of Obama? Can you explain?
Do you mean because he inherited an 11 trillion dollar debt, and a current year's deficit of 1.3 trillion from Bush, and hasn't fixed that mess yet?
Do you mean because he inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression and hasn't fixed it yet? Do you mean he hasn't reversed the miserable job creating performance of the last eight years, when Bush totaled a net of 1.45 million? Is that why you guys are toast?
Do you mean because Obama inherited two disastrous wars and hasn't fixed that yet?
Do you mean because Bush handed him eight years of record trade deficits and he hasn't fixed it yet?
Do you mean because Bush handed him crumbling national infrastructure, neglected for eight years, and he hasn't fixed it yet?
So your kids and their grandkids are toast, right? And it's all Obama's fault?
Sarah Palin exposes her inadequate education every time she opens her mouth. To compare her with Al Franken or President Obama at all is goofy, but to assert that she's superior to them is just bizarre.
Really, your defense of her is plucky and all, but it's embarrassing to read.
Steve Schmidt still evades his central responsibility for the selection of Sarah Palin. As an experienced operator, he bloows smoke (he was obviousloy Todd Purdom's main source), but, as here, he is not in the cross hairs. Conanson waits until his final two paragraphs to focus on what should be the main story: Schmidt is responsibloe for this insult tot he American polity.
Selective Amnesia - that's me!
Darn, I forgot what I wanted to write - oh yeah, here it is.
If you possibly think that it was only W who got this country to the place where we find ourselves today you have to be young or you're smoking something funny.
Congress is an atrocity and they bear even more responsibility than the various incompetent administration that span the last 40 years.
Our current morass is the amalgam of inappropriate and failed policies that started before FDR.
Selective amnesia deals with short term memory but my long term memory is just fine - thank you very much.
I too did not think the photo that accompanied this article was appropriate. Sarah Palin, looking into a camera, with her mouth open--very scary.
Joe, you said it all. To the Republicans it's all about the power. They care nothing about the people of the United States.
How dare they nominate a nincompoop like Palin to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency?
They nominated that nincompoop Bush, and he trashed the country.
Before that they nominated that nincompoop Quayle to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency.
By comparison, Reagan looked like a rocket scientist.
Say what you will about the Democrats, but they at least nominate smart and knowledgeable people.
Hey there, nice to talk to you again.
You have good questions but you did not provide the difference between knowledge and wisdom - what's the difference?
Now let me explain why I see the future as dim if we stay the course of this administration.
First, of all, every POTUS since Washington has inherited a national debt and it continues to increase with each successive administration.
Second,I am tired of hearing BO complain about W - he knew the problems with the economy before he was nominated - if he cannot accept the situation and work with it he should have stayed in the Senate. He should stop making excuses for his performance by trying to shift the blame to the past.
Third, he has spent more money in the first 140 of his first year in office than all other POTI combined since Washington. Is that a logical response to a national debt of $11 trillion?
Shoot - even SARAH CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THAT BUDGET STRATEGY.
Fourth, learn the banking term "debt serive" and apply it to the national debt - we cannot survive fiscally if we continue to follow this course - its how numbers work and interest accrues.
Lastly, its not all BO's fault but he is ballooning the weight of the harsh consequences coming our way in future generations. His policies are not designed to pay down the national debt.
So there you go Bub - now don't forget to answer my question, what is the difference between knowledge and wisdom?
We can add to the list of things that you don't have a good grasp on, taxation......believe there is something like an 80K US exemption on income earned abroad.....I believe also, that there is a full credit for taxes paid to foreign governments.....and yes, while everything has it's ups and downs, I'll happily trade in my 46" TV screen for freedom (the actual kind, not your type of jingoistic bullshit), culture, intellectual sophistication instead of prevalent willful ignorance and anti-intellectualism, efficient inexpensive public transportation, a functional health care system, quiet "straightforward" (not fake) people......
And yes, I have some substantial time "in country".........it's actually coming home that I tend to get culture shock, dealing with loud obnoxious morons and their screaming brat spawn.
Bobby G.-Go for it...

Do you believe an adequate versus an inadequate education is the difference between good political material and bad political material?
If so you have not understood the difference between knowledge and wisdom.
Tell me about the good education of Tony Rossi - no you do not know him but you like his product - Tropicana Orange Juice - he was a friend and the sole owner of the company - never went to high school. But he knew the difference between knowledge and wisdom.
Tell me about the adequate education of Bill Gates - never went to college if I am not mistaken.
Sarah Palan has what Al Franken and BO do not have - she knows the difference between knowledge and wisdom - do you?
