But it's righties who don't know anything about economics. Your economic philosophy is what got us into this mess. Unfortunately, both parties practice it, at least from roughly 1980 on. Though, of course, the GOP is far, far more aggressive about it, and the Dems occasionally wake up and remember who they are.

As for Norway. Their environmental protections are far stricter than ours, which, along with their fantastic social services lead to better longevity, healthier lives, lower infant mortality rates, lower rates of STDs and unwanted pregnancies. Quality of life indicators are far higher in Norway than here.

And they have roughly twice as much tax as a percentage of GDP than we do.

Your "argument" makes zero sense.

Norway has both a carbon tax and Cap and Trade, and it's weathering the global financial meltdown better than we are. Its safety net is the envy of the world, outside of Scandinavian countries that have the same thing . . . People IN Scandinavia routinely see themselves as the happiest people in the world.

Americans? Not so much.

Forbes recently name Denmark the best country in the world for business. It has a very similar system to Norway's. High carbon taxes. It's far greener than we are. And businesses love it there.
