The losers who gave us Sarah Palin

The GOP operatives who championed her should be held accountable for endangering the country

The losers who are winners.

McCain took a dive for Obama. This was no election, it was a gift. Palin was there because she was telegenic and controversial and would provide interest in the campaign. Otherwise no one would have shown up for McCain and no one really thought he had a chance.

It was all scripted in advance.

All part of the show.

Did the Republicans lose?

War.

Torture.

Healthcare.

Bailouts for the rich.

Honduras.

Iran.

Gaza.

The Cabinet.

Sotomayor. (goodbye Roe vs. Wade).

The Republicans got the Democrats to reelected Bush for them. He just has a tan and talks different. Same policies, same government, different face.

Palinorama both is a smokescreen to divert attention from Obama and Biden and the foundation for her Phoenix like resurrection on the political scene after being groomed and "educated" to put on the same show that Obama did with different slogans.

Make a Farrah poster for her and that will trump the Fairey poster. The tools of propaganda work no matter what the ideology is.

Go ahead and dance over the "corpse" of your foe while they tighten your leash.

Your foe is a strawman. You con artists are laughing at you. Both parties and everyone in the MSM who writes this crap.

La Rota will spin a 180 by next election.

Vanity Fair Was Their Confessional

There's accountability for endangering the country? Where? The only accountability ever demanded during that campaign was by Rep. Lewis for the bigotry and hate. Then McCain denied it. And on the brain trust went-knowing they were trying to get a ticket elected that had no business anywhere near that big red button.

Good luck to them in 2012-and if we tolerate another shitty campaign like the last one, we are an endangered country.

The Real Sarah Palin

O.K. you guys must be having a slow news day or you are secretly hot for Palin. You keep stirring the pot hoping to find something of worth to speak of. Let is rest already!

Sarah Palin is a beautiful, camera ready, slogan tossing, eye winking amateur politician. She is a nice person...no matter what you think of her beliefs or ASL associations or her stance on abortion. Add to that the fact hat she loves a good rumble and you have summed up the talents she would bring to an oval office. I appreciate all of the above as should any thinking citizen scanning the horizon for a likely candidate for 2012.

However, and I want to say this forcefully, she is boring. Unlike Obama who has a LAW degree and was editor of the Law Review and did years of community service and organizing, her qualifications have been restricted to Sweet Wasilla. I grew up in a Wasilla-esque community and know that all politics from such a place are popularity contests...or beauty pageants. Take your choice. It is not because of any error on their part. It is because the scope and breadth of their political issues is so very narrow that it does not require special knowledge or advanced education. In such a climate as Wasilla ,greater experience in a larger arena like say, Chicago, may very well sound the death knell in a contest for public office.

Mrs. Palin is a wife and mother and a darn spunky one at that. She is not a politician, a statesman or even a charismatic. She is very smart...at least smart enough to take advantage of the goofs who insisted she be put on the ticket with poor old John McCain. She is also smart enough to make money on the speaking trail and I suspect has fielded more dollars doing so than Bush has trying to raise money for his presidential musuem. No she is smart and beautiful...just woefully parochial and very self serving and as such is very boring. I wish you would let her rest in peace and work where she can do the most good for her state. Right there at home in beautiful down town Wasilla and not on the front page. I want to see some real news.....not the wandering narrative of a bunch of boys displaying teen aged angst.

Informed electorate?

As Conason stated-and we can only blame ourselves if we listen-is the gist. Regardless of the ineptitude of Kristol, Palin never passed the smell test from the beginning. How could anyone possibly support this troglodyte, oh yeah, GWB made it eight years in the white house. Our founding fathers would be so proud of their grand experiment!

Anyone who supports Sarah Palin should be disenfranchised and accused of un-American activities. As bad as GWB was, can anyone possibly fathom the state of our nation if Mccain were elected and subsequently died from the stress and pressure of the job, I just became nauseous....

TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO PALIN HYPE

The Koreans are inching their way towards us bombing their way through yet we are engrossed with Palin madness. What a world of misdirected priorities.

Lee in LA, lying racist scum

ACORN was the victim of fraud, not the perpetrator. The individual scoundrels who tried to game the registration system were turned in by ACORN. A few corrupt politicians then tried to blame or prosecute ACORN, but it went nowhere because it was a lie. It's like a homeowner reporting that his house was robbed, then being arrested by the police himself.

But leave it to so-called conservatives who rigged two elections for Bush by denying the franchise to black voters in Florida and Ohio to turn around and attempt to destroy an organization that tries to register minority voters.

Real studies of voter fraud in the 2008 election show that Obama (of whom I am not a fan; see my previous posts) was actually robbed of about 5 million votes. Enough to have elected McCain if it had been truly close. But people were fed up enough with lying racist right-wingers and corporate shills to massively reject the GOP. (Obama's policy betrayals of his own voters is a separate issue; that charge is largely true, but it doesn't deny GOP vote rigging.)

I find it curious that Palin supporters who decry "name-calling" have no problem with labeling Democrats as Marxists, "faggots" and men who wear women's panties. That's so intelligent. (Terkoy, you never did answer my question as to whether ThanksfortheAtlantic and NeoNonCabal are intellectually representative of conservatism.)

Finally, I can claim some credibility in denying that Obama is a socialist, because I am a socialist, and nowhere did Marx or Lenin ever advocate handing billions of dollars to bankers and insurance companies with no strings, and I am sure that neither of them would support staffing the top levels of government with Goldman Sachs puppets.

By the way, Cuchucain2007 and kristinp, you are my two new heroes. I don't expect you to agree with my economics, but it is enough that you are great at explaining the bullshit coming from the right. We cannot afford to dismiss the right as insane, we must always be aware of their overwhelming evil. Thank you again.
