The losers who gave us Sarah Palin

The GOP operatives who championed her should be held accountable for endangering the country

And furthermore, you *#%^&*!!!

Ha ha, just kidding! But seriously, what is the source of the Salonistas' near-pathological reaction to confrontation with the other (i.e., the other point of view)? My 2 cents says it's buried in the industrial origins of East- and West-coast cultures. Nineteenth-century industrial culture required muscle and lots of it. The strength of industrial capitalists was eventually answered with labor unions who of necessity cultivated a manly, tough culture to combat the hired thugs of their employers. But labor unions eventually developed their own cultures of corruption and intimidation even as they became increasingly irrelevant in the 40 years that followed the 1929 financial collapse, during which time government increasingly assumed responsibility for providing some minimal social services. The difference between feudalism and capitalism is that feudalism is based on fealty and capitalism is based on performance. That's why capitalism doesn't care about who you fall in love with as long as your performance in the marketplace delivers the goods! With feudalism, performance is secondary to loyalty and the people at the top may (or may not) care about who you fall in love with, but stay away from the boss's children just to be safe! This blue-collar (no slight intended) toughness is a holdover from the old days of grossly exploitative capitalism where one gang of feudal crooks took on another gang and the toughest guys won! I recommend Dashiell Hammett's "Red Harvest" to interested parties! Chill out, it's only the Internet!

Steve Schmidt? More like "Steve Shit"...

All I can say is the Republican party is full of asshole idiots. This article substantiates my claim.

Palin is a fucking idiot. I don't know how she managed to become Alaska governor. Must be some really fucking dumb people in Alaska to have actually voted for such a pea-brain.

Its good to see the GOP going further and further down the toilet--thanks to Kristol, Steve Shit, Black, and Salter.

@Cuchulain2007

What makes you think she'll even want to Represent the GOP? Independants are such a dominant force now they drawf Dems as well as Repubs. What makes you think it's even about her to her?

She can be a tremendous force having influence over a large segment of us common folk. The conservatives principles being advanced and helping to clean house may be all she's about, who knows?. She's not playing the game, she's stepping down. She is now not beholden to anybody but has power because she can influence many. The next congress must get through Sarah Palin first, she will have a big say. That's enough for now.

@dryan08

Hey Dryan08-you're absolutely right, no comparison between Obama and Palin.

I couldn't bear to read more than one page of letters on this thread, as so many of them are written by idiots defending Palin in one way or another. I think stupid people are attracted to stupid politicians--hence 8 years of Bush and a McSame/Palin ticket that got so many votes from dumbshit Americans.

Can't we ship all the pea-brained monkeys who like Palin to Alaska, and then have them suceed like Palin's husband wants Alaska to do?

"...what is the source of the Salonistas' near-pathological reaction to confrontation with the other (i.e., the other point of view)? My 2 cents says it's buried in the industrial origins of East- and West-coast cultures..."

Austinboy, that's an unnecessarily complex analysis of the lively goings-on here on the comments thread.

I get "mean" only when I'm addressing a rightwing Palin fan who defends Palin by making the usual over-the-top rightwing claims against Obama.

Apparently they can't defend her any other way. So, I don't take them seriously.

Fred and Wilma...

Reading this type of trash on Salon is reminiscent of watching some "B" caveman movie, or maybe a wildlife documentary. The "invader" of the home cave (Palin) is successfully killed by the clan, but just to be sure, every time one of the brainstem Neanderthals walks outside to pick up another stick of firewood, they stop and beat the carcass a few times to "make sure" it's really dead. "UH!! UH!! UH! I think monster move!!! Must kill again!! Must beat!! So, here we have the Marxist/Socialists basically beating ANY competitors to an EDITORIAL pulp, NO FACTS involved, just enough seething venom to convince the other surrounding tribes that they needn't worry anymore and to enforce tribal compliance. The Marxist men piss on all the surrounding trees, and the women scream like banshees at anyone who walks near the carcass. This scene is like a diorama in the Prehistoric culture exhibit in your local taxpayer funded, bloated budget, Natural History Museum. Sarah Palin is the saber-toothed tiger who almost moved into the cave. Brainstem politics...my God, are we in trouble if these are the best the Liberals have to offer. Saloon.com needs another drink. QUICK!!! Grab your club..I think I just saw Palin twitch again!! It's a National Geographic moment!!

239 Hits?

Whatever your views, this candidate receives attention. She seems to terrify the woman hating libtards who voted a muslim foreigner to be POTUS. Maybe it's because she represents all that the Traitorcrats pretend to believe in, but betray.

And she doesn't spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayers money denying access to her birth certificate....

Charles Krauthammer is staying put

"Those who banged the drum for disastrous war flit from one editorial page to the next;"

Not entirely true. Charles Krauthammer still writes for the Washington Post and David Brooks is still at the New York Times.

A Brain Dead Cintonite Errand Boy Like Little Joe...

heaping more cheap scorn on Sarah is a snicker provoking eye roll. Yeah, Joe, why should a true American, self-made success story of the quintessential kind get anything but your contempt? EUuuuuuuuuuu...Not the right colleges which she put herself through? EUuuuuu...Way too pretty. Yep, ya got me there, Connie Boy, she's 25-times more attractive than the shirt tail babe, Hillary...Shoots big game, fishes for salmon and, OMG, plays a mean game of basketball? Unforgivable! Ohhhhh, nooooooooo, an upper midwest accent....Businesswoman..?? Noooooooooo...Mayor of Wasilla?? NOT on the approved list of the Slicks Class! Governor........???? More exec experience than The Bamma, whose only exec experience was...Night Shift Ass't Manager at a Circle-K Mini Mart...OOOoooopps...He DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THAT, Joe Bob! Ohhhhh...That b'yotch didn't aboort her Downs Fetus?? Unacceptable in Manhatten shi-shi dives.

You Pukes are vastly loathsome. Oh, Gawd, it's gonna be FUN watching the keening and rending of Lefturd garments once Sarah hits the $100-200K per speaking engagement circuit!
