I am a democrat and do not agree with sarah palin's politics but i am totally disgusted and disappointed in the democrats vicious attack on her. the media is no better- maybe worse. there have been many "unqualified" candidates and politicians in both parties in the past.. and present. if you think that is what she is, so be it. but....just let it go now!
Can we please get this straight?
Comparing Sarah Palin with Barack Obama is like comparing Elbert the counting horse to Albert Einstein. Watching both of them for 5 minutes should demonstrate this.
Mr. Obama is an erudite, intelligent, highly educated person who has some of the most impressive credentials of any President in recent history. His books, speeches, off the cuff remarks and pretty much everything else about him lend credence to this "fact."
Ms. Palin is a well-meaning (at least sometimes, one would suppose) not very well educated, perpetually under-prepared person who would be severely challenged as the principal of a junior high school (not to mention bigoted, short-sighted, holier than thou and a raft of other traits not desirable in even a low-level politician) much less as the leader of the free world.
I'm pretty sure most Republicans are aware of this, but don't wish to admit just how monumentally they screwed up in allowing her to get within a thousand miles of the Vice-Presidency of the United States, much less the Presidency.
I don't quite know when our society reached such a low pass that we feel it is wiser to lie than to admit error, but there we are.
There are plenty of Rebublicans qualified to compete for the job of President. Sarah Palin is not now, and has never been one of them. Sarah Palin's candidacy was one of the most cynical attempts to manipulate public opinion ever foisted upon the American citizenry. I really don't think she's a "bad person," but I have no doubt whatsoever that there are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of more qualified potential candidates for almost any political post you might care to name - from dogcatcher of Wasilla to Municipal Court judge, than she.
Thank you for confirming that there are a few here who are NOT hate-filled, moronic trolls of either political party persuasion which are less interesting than a cat fight between to identical twins.

Palin may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but she sure knows how to get what she wants. Bush was much the same but he has a cunning (conniving?) intellect that is back by old family money and having grown up w/ privilege and power.
Look around any company... you find the same sort of people working their way up through the ranks. Not necessarily (sp?) the best and brightest but ambitious and clever.
Well, hopefully you're being ironic.
Cuz, Palin is definitely clever enough to make friends with the people who will help her, and help them in return.
And, again, if she runs as a GOP candidate, she'll have to hew to their platform to some degree. And no American party is as beholden to corporate America as the GOP. No American party does as much for them, fights as hard for the rich in America, ignores the poor as much, or ignores workers as much.
The Dems once were fiercely for the working class. They abandoned that fierceness in the early 70s, and went over to the dark side. They're still better for workers BY FAR than the GOP. But they're not truly progressive.
Obama will be (and has been) better for workers than any GOP candidate. I just wish he'd reverse course and leave Reaganomics far, far behind. He's continuing too many Bush policies to separate this country from the disaster that was Reaganism and right wing economics in general.
I do have some hopes for him, still. Looks like he may actually institute financial regulations that could help stop the bleeding at least.
We'll see.
In short, Palin would be gold for the financial elite. They'd eat her up and make sure she was reelected.

Not until she has been regrooved to be their tool, just as Obama has been.
I would have preferred to have a democrat in the White House, but the MSM decided to make Kucinich out to be a joke so we ended up with Bush 3 instead.
You could count the number of congressmen that do not serve the financial elite using the fingers on ONE HAND.
They own the government and they own the media and they own the mass mind.
Salon is prepping her to be President. Only Arnold can save us from that and he is no real prize either.
The Schwarzenegger Presidential Library must be built - it is in Demolition Man.
If the world wasn't so afraid of us, they would be laughing.
After witnessing a typical snake oil presentation and falling for the the abstraction of hope and change I wouldn't say we have anything but losers in Washington to deal with. Taking a country that was founded on individual rights and turning it into collectivized debt ridden bundle of grubby politicians arguing about who said what is no great feat. Apologizing to dumpy little barbaric cultures on a gas guzzling world tour while calling for better fuel efficiencies shows what scoundrels we have given a golden pass. Sarah Plain is merely a talking point diversion for the dolts that want to be sure no one looks too close to what is happening with the so called "winners'. No one has crossed the finish line until the end of the term and at the rate of the race at this point I'd bet even money Sarah Palin will shine beside the tattered remnants of the Obama regime. I Betcha.
