...thinking with only their dicks...
are very similar to the losers who perpetrate the Palin myth by publishing stories about her.
Just Stop It.
Let's let the current Reaganomics-caused financial disaster run its course before we wish for another Reagan.
Mr Conason's article is based on the premise that we are living in a democracy - which would be endangered by the selection of unqualified people for high office.
Regrettably, the days of the American republic are over, and the sooner journalists and others stop writing as if we had a government by consent the better.
This is a plutocratic, imperial state. It uses the threat and the actuality of military force, covert subversion, embargos and all other means to expand its grip on world resources. The USA is perhaps the most successful of all tyrannies, because it maintains the trappings of a democratic state, elections, a "free" press (or media), to keep its citizens anchored in the self-deception of self-government. No other tyranny, past or present, has been able to do this over as long a period of time: since the end of the Truman administration.
It is destructive to any hope of even moderating the wickedness of the plutocracy that determines what our "elected" politicians do to continue the fiction that we have a representative government. Journalists like Mr Conason should change their fundamental assumptions about our rule if they wish to awaken our narcotized citizenry.
There's nothing wrong with Sarah Palin. She's just doing what she was born to do. Alaskans are different from you and me. Can you live there? Neither can I. Alaskans are rugged individualists who don't give a rat's ass what you think of them.
Palin is the first sexually attractive American woman to run for office of Vice President of the United States. The men (and women) who adore her are in love with her; and so were those "losers." Her limited intellect has nothing to do with the fact that every single man who meets her, whether politician, entertainer or media person, has the same thought in his head.
I predict she will get a conservative television contract that will put Limbaugh to shame.
Oh give it up. George W. Bush was the quintessential insider candidate, with the wholehearted approval of Wall Street and the party elite, he had credentials from Yale and Harvard, but he was just as unprepared, uninformed, and lacking in intellectual curiosity as Sarah Palin, and you saw where that got us. I suspect, of course, that you're one of the 20% who think that worked out just fine, but the rest of us know the danger of voting for someone on the strength of his or her seeming folksiness and "attractiveness" as opposed to qualifications.
It isn't "elitist" to expect a candidate for national office to know something about national and international affairs and to be able to express herself coherently about policy. I don't care where she got her college degree, I care about whether she took advantage of those educational opportunities to learn what a President needs to know. She showed the world quite clearly that she didn't. What she learned, with her degree in communications, was how to look good on TV and how to talk as though she knew what she was talking about, even if she was talking gibberish. That won't cut it in a summit with Medvedev, my friend.
I agree with Conason that the Party that nominate a disaster politicians should be punished to remind them to make sure next time they should be more carefully to check and validate the candidate's legibility and qualifications, and to go through a proper vetting process.
Well, Palin lost her VP bid, therefore we do not know her actual performance. Everything that Conason wrote in this article is irrelevant because McCain/Palin lost and they did not have the chance to do any harm to the nation. If on the otherhand, for the winning ticket, we can judge their performance in the next 3 years to see whether they are disaster or not. If in this time frame, the economy is still not recovered with unemployment rate at 8-10% level, with high inflation and interest rates. if the legislations passed are failures, and the foreign policies are failures, then we will hold the Democrat Party accountable. If Obama/Bident do not perform and proved to be disasters, great harm will be done to the economy and nation. Of course the judges are the voters and not the media nor political pundits, people like Conason writing on these pages.
I am flattered that you view me as a role model and someone to emulate.
i am that effing good looking, intelligent, witty and hot.
Now get me an effing coffee, bring me my pipe and slippers and take off your clothes.
Prepare for the REAL THING.
oooh la la.

This writer is so correct about Palin. At least maybe now with Palin leaving the governorship, the aerial shooting of wolves in Alaska along with other inhumane methods of killing too much wildlife will subside. I love the article and agree that more needs to be done to hold accountable and prosecute those individuals who make pernicious decisions that take us into war and destroy our economy.
Does anyone remember Bob Avakian and the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA? Thanks, Berkeley, you're the gift that keeps on giving! I actually ran into some real live members in Los Angeles in the 1980s who were otherwise gainfully employed and not under a doctor's care. One point of possible interest to Salonistas might be the RCP's position on sex: I was seriously informed that under Chairman Bob's leadership, same-sex relationships would vanish because they were a symptom of a sick society and in the healthy society of the new order all sexual activity would be purposefully directed toward procreation! I am not making this up! The future is now! only it's being delivered by right-wing religious types on teevee instead of graduate-school dropouts!
The RCP fucked up any coalition that was naive enough to let those looneytoons in the door.
The RCP women were pretty hot.
Bob Avakian is the Lyndon LaRouche of the left.
