The losers who gave us Sarah Palin

The GOP operatives who championed her should be held accountable for endangering the country

The letters thread is now closed.

@allheavens -- Reagan was the big joke in '76

and it wasn't until '80 that the oldest candidate was elected after Jimmy tried to destroy us.

Now supposedly Sarah could not adapt to a changing world.

This kind of change we do not need.

With Soros steering us toward worldwide socialism and big brother taking over.

America's entrepreneurial spirit will revive.

And all the libs and their goofy ideas can go to hell.

GOP'ERS ARE VERY BAD PEOPLE

The GOP is made up of very bad people, their leaders are slaves to big business and their only currency is holier than thou preaching to the rest of us while they indulge in debauchery and write crazed love letters to trollops. The American people have finally gotten wise to their bullcrap and thouroughly rejected them in the last two elections. IN 2010 WE'LL MAKE IT THREE STRAIGHT DEFEATS FOR THEM!

@thestar -- Chicago street agitator does not have experience

but who cares? He's black. He's cool. It's his turn. Let's make history. Ohmigod.

The losers who gave us Salon...

...decry the existence of, and the attention given Sarah Palin.

This is quickly followed by the application of the liberal illogic code of doofusness, whereby they then engage in constant discussion of Sarah Palin.

...you can't really blame them, what else have they got?

My dear Something Stinks,

How stupid are we?

Easy answer

Less than you

Sincerely,

Your older brother

My dear Terkoy (without a star and without a clue),

Mirror! Mirror!

Who is the dumbness of them all?

See your reflection?

I also see an orangutan… (IQwise too)

Insufficient education and democracy

Certainly is a danger in a democracy when enough people are insuffciently educated to recognize someone who is insufficiently educated to be president.

Friday, July 10, 2009 08:46 AM

Terkoy

I think you guys should dig up Regan's corpse and run it for president in 2012. At the very least you should place it in state so you can all cornhole it every now and again, your unrequited love of it is one of the great tragic love stories of the last 50 years.

Who is a loser?

Articles like this, void of substance, full of ridicule, are laughable. Go back to reading your People Magazine. One thing is inescapable: when you read all the ink being spilled over Sarah Palin says loud and clear that she represents a threat to a lot of people for some reason.

Keep up the good work Salon

Never let us forget about Palin, she came within a heartbeat of a heartbeat of the presidency. Plus, we get the added advantage that any mention of her, frankly, epic stupidity, makes the trolls go apeshit insane, so it shows that we are striking a nerve. What are they so afraid of I wonder? After all they created her, not us liberals. We just call the facts as they present themselves.

Uncle G

YOur children and grandchildren are economic toast because you are poor white trailer trash who never gave your children an opportunity to succeed. As a result, your children are now poor white trailer trash, who will never give their kids a chance to succeed. Your grandchildren will grow up to be poor white trailer trash who will give their children no chance to succeed. Richard Price described it as the cycle of shit. He was referring to poor black drug dealers in the ghetto, but you guys really aren't that different.

And if a swiss cheese brained, Alzheimers ridden ex-actor can be President, a comic can surely be a Senator.

@runfastandwin -- I'm sure you enjoyed living thru Reagan

and wish as we do that someone similar would take the place of the current charlatan.

Go here...

http://www.angryflower.com/mahfel.html

And paste Palin's face on top of W's. Make a few corrections to the dates and you're done.

How dare they!!

Those insiders dared to actually elevate someone to be a national figure without the progressive elites approval from both parties? Didn't they know only candidates approved by the Wall St Mullahs are allowed on the ballot in this country? If she dare speak or her followers rally it will not be tolerated and they will be brutally beat back if necessary. The Mullahs have spoken and the MSM guard will enforce it. The corruption of our Washington representatives and thier sworm dedication to big money special interest must be preserved at all cost. Caimpaigning for change is one thing actually trying to bring it to our government is quite another.

Pretty soon they may start to ask "Where is my vote?". Whether Sarah Palin is sucessful or not the cat is out of the bag and the common person is awakening and sees an opportunity to finally clean house. A common person not beholding to special interest can gain momentum and a voice and Sarah Palin proves it. This is a big threat to the same old Washington politics as usual so I can understand how an idiot like Conason feels threatened. His days may be numbered.

Friday, July 10, 2009 09:27 AM

Thumbs up

I'm actually glad to read this piece by Conason, it's a nice corrective to the insane, idiotic, fawning crap that Paglia writes about her every month.

Karla_1960, don't read too much into that picture.

The caption clearly identifies the man next to her as her campaign manager. And she doesn't look in the least like someone caught canoodling in the back seat of a car, she looks like a candidate who just spotted a camera, and promptly leapt forward to make sure she got into the picture, with a great big smile on her face.

Joe, you're quite right about the irresponsibility of the pundits and campaign staff who put a woman forward for the vice-presidency when she wasn't ready for exposure on that level. But please drop the sidewalk psychoanalysis. The term "narcissistic" is one of the easiest amateur diagnoses to slap onto any politician, just because of the nature of their jobs and the nature of campaigning. Yes, most people who go into politics have to have big egos and extroverted personalities, and to thrive on the attention they get from crowds. But let's not keep abusing the diagnostic manual to claim that something is an illness. The terms "self-regarding" and "thin-skinned" will do just fine for Sarah.

I Knew It

I had the feeling that Palin was pushed on to the McCain ticket.

I guess this proves that McCain was not in charge, after all.
