  • Hello

If she can't sue you Mr. Conason she may well drive down and beat you up.

  • You're griping about...

...someone who was the VP on a *losing* ticket? Start a petition apologizing for Carter and get back to me.

  • Yes, but...

If the Palin pickers can be charged, what about the George W. Bush pickers? Has the statute of limitations passed on that?

  • Palin proves PT Barnum correct

There's a sucker born every minute, and anyone who honestly believes that she could be president is beyond redemption.

The next-gen neocons love the idea of President Palin, because they think they could manipulate her like Cheney manipulated Bush.

I'll be checking out European real estate should such a nightmare come to pass...

  • hoping this was an editor's phrase

"The GOP operatives who championed her should be charged with endangering the country"

In what sense and by whom? The Department of Law? Geez.

  • Palin's own style of thinking

As much as Palin did, and still does, pose a danger to this country, I hope the writer doesn't seriously advocate making it a crime in the USA to recommend a nincompoop for public office. That's Palin's own style of thinking.

By that logic, George HW and Barbara Bush should be jailed for having given birth to George W. Hmm...on the other hand, that might just work.

  • Hey Joe, heads up

There IS a definite price to be paid for being wrong. Any curreny that Kristol had is now gone. Sure the GOP will still publish and read him, but his moniker 'he who is never right' will be on his headstone.

Now, about that salcious little photo that you have accompanying this article, I say to you Salon, you guys are being assholes a little bit. It looks as if Palin is meeting with someone in the front seat of her SUV and just got caught. National enquirer just showed up to take the the incriminating shot. Stop this Salon. Stop going down this path. Stop sinking to this level.

I know you need hits and Palin is your golden girl, but a little piece of me died when I saw this.

I'm a parent, so I have internalized the truth that you have to pick your battles. And you have to be VERY selective about those battles.

Become a parent Salon. Please do not drop your standards to this extent.

  • "If she can't sue you Mr. Conason she may well drive down and beat you up."

What, and be forced to take Trig-the-ubiquitous-photo-prop off her hip?

  • Kristol - Wrong on Palin; Wrong for America

If anything he (Kristol) is too steadfast, still insisting that Palin deserves to be considered a serious candidate for the presidency and that her qualifications for that position are comparable to those of Barack Obama.

There's a HUGE difference between Palin's qualifications and Obama's qualifications. Obama has six months' experience as President of the United States.

    Palin has squat.

  • @ Joe Conason

    Joe,

You have it all wrong - Palin was presented by operatives, accepted by a political party, and not picked by the people of the US. Its called and election Joe and lots of people run.

What's interesting is that you have to come back at this woman constantly after the fact of the election. Move on bro.

If she is so lame and worthless then she is no threat.

However, if you keep her in the media spotlight and BO screws up really bad (if Michelle allows him to live through the night tonight) - then she may seem like a viable alternative to the administration which looks to be excaberating the problems left over by W.

Keep her in the news Joe - try to take the spotlight off POTUS and his penchant to repeat every economic mistake made by FDR.

If she ever does get elected as President, it will be people like you that we will look to as those who made it possible for her to stay famous and potent.

Thanks for the free advertising Dude.

  • Another Bush presidency

That's what I been writing lately Man this story his right on target. If Sarah palin becomes president its going to be Bush and Cheney all over again.the Neo-Con/Freemason secret society agenda is going to take control of the wheel and that's "SCARY" to think we would go thru the same shit over again Because thats what going to happen. We can not let it happen we need to start campaigning that Sarah is like Bush because that's "NO" shit Sarah is like Bush with a skirt. That"s the slogan Sarah like Bush if you liked Bush then you'll like Sarah cause there just alike and there policy's will be the same.God save us if she becomes president

  • @ essmeier

    You are so right.

Palin could not possibly have had the mental acumen to have spent the US into penury as fast as BO.

He is so smart and so far ahead of Palin that he was able to figure our that when you are in deep debt the way to get out of it is to borrow more money and spend it.

And he is so intelligent that he figured out that when unemployment was going up, you increase the taxes on the business sector that employes the great number of workers in the US - small business.

You are also right that he is so smart that he misread the economy as Joe Biden said and now we are in a worse position than before. SARAH PALIN IS SO STUPID SHE COULD NEVER HAVE FIGURED THAT OUT - NOT IN TWO TERMS.

If BO is smart, I vote for stupid!

  • What is this Palin fixation?

Gee suz, salon - give it a rest. Sarah Palin as universal bogeywoman is wearing more than a bit thin.

  • Why is Salon still obsessed with this woman?

I'm sorry, but until she actually does run for the office, She deserves no place in the public spotlight. Yes, she's an idiot, yes, Bill Kristol has the blood of everyone killed in Iraq the past six years on his hands, yes, her folliowers are a bunch of brainless end times zombies who think Jesus supported tax cuts for the rich. But I'm pretty sure whatever scandal that caused her to resign the governorship will sink any future chances she has of the presidency, not that they were that great to begin with. She'll get a part time speaking gig on Fox, write a couple books, and her "base" will move on to the next Left Behind spewer that comes along. End of her story.

Meanwhile Obama's numbers are starting to slip because the stimulus package isn't producing results fast enough. There's a good chance the GOP will take back congress if things don't turn around soon. Let's worry about the more immediate problems before we have to see her face sooner then we have to again.
