No one who has followed Al Franken's journey, read his books and/or listened to him on Air America can be the least bit surprised that those people he relentlessly called out for their lies and distortions are now describing Senator Franken with all the adjectives he used on them. I am so proud that Senator Franken brings the party of his deeply mourned and missed mentor into what may be a position to move us forward. Yeah for Al!!! You made it... YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH, YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH AND DOG-GONE IT WE LIKE YOU!!!! and respect you and expect the best from you.
the Genetically Oblated Psychopath party continues to define itself by these outbursts. Keep it up, kiddies..you are getting soooooo far out there, you are now just head-shaking entertainment for the rest of the country..the sane folks!
...get an opinion of your own! All I hear from you is repetition of the big fat idiot and Ann Coulson, who has made my most favorite comment by an idiot with a pen when she said, "Democrats don't care about high gas prices." Yeah, we all own oil wells. Yeesh. Obama has been in office just over five months. Trying to fix eight years of damage by Shrub, Cheney, Rove and their warmongering, trickle-down economics, screw-poor-people, cronies. "Mission Accomplished!"
In closing his assessment of Al Franken's election to the U.S. Senate, Joe Conason justly concludes, "Everything his enemies say about him is true of them. They're just too angry -- and maybe too crazy -- to admit to themselves that he beat them with sharp strategy and hard work." In the end, the one enduring trait Franken possesses that the others do not simply is intelligence.
Oh, I don't know - he knows how to con the media moguls into paying him something like $37 mil a year. And he knows how to get left-wing publications like, say, Salon, to give him plenty of free publicity.
Limbaugh and Fox Nuisance don't pretend to be legitimate news sources. They are money-making machines - and if they manage to brainwash part of the population, that's just gravy.
that Longblah topped even himself today by somehow linking Obama to Michael Jackson's death?? As best I understand, the economic situation in this country (caused, no less, by Bush) is somehow the reason that Jackson died? This, of course, is the sort of logic only understood by a raving lunatic like Reich Longblah and the pack of mindless hounds who follow along in his turd-trail. But, as I keep saying, they've long ago passed from the dimension of Sanity into the truly, laughably Absurd..so whaddaya gonna do..but chuckle!
If I had been a Minnesota voter who voted for Sen. Franken, I would have been leading a public protest against former Sen. Coleman. Seven months without the benefit of fairly and democratically elected reprensentation. That's unAmerican. That is the kind of nonsense that is going on in Iran. How dare Rush Limbaugh and the other big and small idiots say that Franken wasn't fairly elected. If they want to know "not fairly elected," then let them go to Iran or Cuba or China or Pakistan. Welcome to Washington, Sen. Franken. It's so great to have some intelligent people, with conscience and courage, in charge again. And Franken adds a great intellect and social conscience, and as a bonus, a brilliant sense of humor, to the new activist government in Washington.
This episode of the right-wing Republican nut jobs is similar to the right-wing Republican nut jobs when their "darling," Barry Goldwater was running for(and losing badly) the 1964 presidential election. "They was robbed!" "The Democrats cheated!" "The Communists were behind it!" We've heard it all before and we're tired of it. It's time for the right-wing Republican nut jobs to crawl back under their rock and re-emerge in forty to fifty years!
Limbaugh, O'really and Faux News DO pretend to be legitimate news sources. If they'd all change their tags to say: "Money Mogel Murdoch's Message", or, "Conservative Propaganda News", that'd be fine. But they prey on (some) otherwise well-meaning people who think "Fair and Balanced" is for real and that they actually give a crap about the truth. They don't, as we all know.
As for Limbaugh, he is smart enough to be funny, but he's not WISE enough to be funny. What the good conservatives don't know is that he's not using his smarts to make the world a better place, like Franken is, Limbaugh is making a literal fortune telling them lies, (he's gotten really, really rich doing so), feeding them misinformation and inflaming them. I'm pretty sure he and Ann Coulson are going to hell.
If you took the two digit IQ's of these people and added them together, the resulting figure would not exceed TEN.
I'm amazed that they can put two coherent sentences together....oh!...uh, that's right - they can't!
Go get 'em, Al!
How great it is to finally get a victory. Thank you Senator Franken for toughing it out. Thank you judges for laughing this travesty out of court.
Too bad criminal Rethuglicans. You lose. Ha, ha. I am celebrating and rejoicing.
HISTORY 101:
Where were these "God fearing", "family values", "Constitution loving" right wing hypocrites, who say that the election in MN was stolen, in 2000 and 2004 when those elections were stolen? - And there are reams of proof regarding that.
I guess the election of a senator is MUCH more important than the election of a president!
They certainly didn't care when that 'august?' body we call the Supreme Court took it upon themselves to decide who was going to be president - against the tenets of our Constitution that state they do not have a right to do so.
(Well, at least four of the justices made the correct decision, see
http://www.usatoday.com/news/vote2000/pres246.htm)
The moral depravity of these people is limitless and, if the American public doesn't begin to stand up for itself, they will drag us down into that amoral abyss - where morals and ethics don't count or exist - only who wins...by any means.
