Rush Limbaugh is still a big fat idiot

And so are his Fox News pals, who lambasted Sen. Al Franken's "stolen election"

The letters thread is now closed.

They're just characters, dudes

I'm recalling how Republicans have attacked film and TV characters as if they are real. It's bizarre - Dan Quayle, Newt Gingrich, Limbaugh, all of them. What really gets to them is the devastatingly accurate critique Franken's made in his books and on the radio...both "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot" and "Lying Liars..." were entertaining and refuted the Right's rhetoric beautifully point for point.

Whining Democrats

Is there anything you guys don't whine about. You can dish it out. but can't take it.

You leftist own the network television stations. For 8 years all the leftist owned network stations did was bash, insult, lie and degrade President Bush. Then they started doing the same to Palin and McCain, while all the while giving Obama, (organized Crime), and his other democrats a free pass on everything.

Much like your article or whatever crap it is, Rush and O'reilly have as much right as you do, or the network stations that spew their crap.

And, by the way I don't listen to Rush nor watch O'reilly hardly ever.

It's called freedom of speech.

@ Cliffhuber

You are kidding aren't you?????? I watched network televion news, (which are all Liberal democrat owned) do exactly the same thing to Bush, Palin, McCain, as you are stating in your post. Get real and quit sucking up to Salon, you guys are a bunch of clones.

Policy wonk

I recommend The Truth(with Jokes), and in particular his analysis of the Iraq, war to assess Franken's bona fides as a policy analyst, and author, for that matter.

Fair is Fair

fbair1 may have the makings of a pointed argument.

Sen Franken and Mr Limbaugh have one area of common ground - talk radio.

Both engaged in opinionated rhetoric (Limbaugh is a success, Franken failed).

Yet Limbaugh is excoriated and Franken is not - why?

The Constitution does provide for free speech.

BTW - Mr Limbaugh has a cadre of employees who track as much as possible, every mention of his name in the media. He then regurgitates this material back at his audience with his commentary and they love it.

So you see, Mr Conason has given Mr Limbaugh material for the EIB Network. The more railing, the better for Mr Limbaugh.

@ fbair

Please list these networks, their "liberal Democrat owners" and what you know of these people to illustrate why you know them to be "liberal Democrat owners." I don't want to read your opinions of these people, I want to know their voting records and their political donating history. I'm assuming you have this info at your disposal if you're making such claims.

Rush Limbaugh's elevated thinking

I remember being out at the supermarket, and seeing someone wearing a Rush Limbaugh t-shirt, during Bill Clinton's first term. Featuring a large cartoon, it caricatured the Clinton's as being cavemen and hillbillies, with the legend: "Meet the Clintstones," and a subcaption under Rush Limbaugh's picture, saying "See? I told you so!" Really puerile, and free of any substance (and humor, for that matter). Haw haw haw!!

To our Canadian neighbor: I'm still convinced that there are some conservatives left who actually paid some attention during their Ivy League educations. George Will didn't have an uninterrupted record of perfect logic, but he did rise above simple name-calling and insubstantial caricature. I'm afraid that logic may have been a casualty of our political or cultural environment over the last several decades, though. Thanks for your prayers.

Speaking of Big Fat Idiots

Those would be the citizens and voters of Minnesota. They elected a fool and laughing stock. In my opinion

Hm...

Yes, good question Bizona:

fbair1, Bizona raises a good point, don't you think? If you claim that there's a preponderance of liberal owners in television, do you have such data? Or did you make an unsubstantiated claim, for which you have no idea of any factual basis? I think it'd be a great idea, if there's any factual basis for your claim, to expose each and every one of these liberal network owners, and list their political biases.

I can start with one: Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox, is avowedly conservative, and when asked whether he tilts the news, has not denied it. So there's one arch-conservative, Republican partisan. Now, would you like to name any of these liberal network owners, as Bizona asks, to substantiate your claim? Or did your claim have no basis in data?

psychological profile

I would love to see a psychological profile done on these insane right-wing pundits. The only good thing about Beck, Limbaugh and the nutty right wing lot, is they continue to hurt the GOP.

Just what we need in Congress...a squirrel like Franken

Another moron to suck off the national tit and show contempt for honest success instead of the slimy way he used ACORN to steal the election.

Even more interesting

Excuse me, fbair1 said:

--I watched network televion news, (which are all Liberal democrat owned)

So in other words, you disagree with me, and you feel that Rupert Murdoch, who owns the Fox network, is actually a liberal? Wow! That's a new one, and I've heard some outlandish claims. So if that's true, can you tell us why you're defending Fox News so vehemently against the liberals, if they actually are liberal democrat owned?

fbair1, I'm afraid your statement looks like a simple lie. But yes, feel free to list all (and you did say "all" network TV news was "liberal democrat owned," in your own words) network television's liberal owners' voting and contribution records, as Bizona suggested, to support your claim. Heck of a claim, that Rupert Murdoch and every other network TV news owner, are liberal democrats.

Bill O'Reilly, did you know you were working for a liberal democrat-owned station?

Really: you people really don't care that what you say is an obvious lie, demonstrable with one second's thought. It makes me wonder who you think you're convincing; but then, what else is new.

You Lie.

All the Salonistas respect ACORN for bringing you Franken

so another Republican can be displaced and lose an important seat in the headlong rush toward Marxism.

Puny Pundits

Paybacks are hell aren't they Rush, et al.? Didn't hear all that caterwauling when Bush junior and his brother stole Florida and the presidency. Grow up--never have seen so many whiny, overpaid pundits.
