"Your sneering disdain will not shift us from our purpose. If we win this election we'll start the long process of un-fucking this great nation. If we lose the election, we'll apply the lesson and mobilize in ways you can't begin to imagine."

I neglected to include a penchant amounting to a compulsion for the use of vulgar/scatological/bad language in public and on inappropriate occasions. It is a curious fact that adolescents of all ages seem unable to refrain from inserting four letter words into their speech and writing. By their potty mouths ye shall know them. One can only suppose this is their way of demonstrating their independence of thought and brave disregard of oppressive social norms. That such language might be nothing but simple bad banners indicative of a self-centered, disrespectful and fundamentally childish attitude does not occur to them.
It is worth repeating and even emphasizing that an immature and imprudent mind is no respecter of the calendar and that one regularly encounters adults of middle age and beyond whose outlook is indistinguishable from that of 12 and 13 year olds. Though they have traversed years and tramped many moons they have learned nothing and remain always as they were, perpetual Peter Pans. This could be the result of heavy cannabis abuse in some cases and of prolonged exposure to bad music in others. Of course sequestration in artificial quasi-monastic environments such as academia and other sanctuaries for refugees from reality is also a major cause of stunted emotional development.
Narcissism and inflated self-worth with fantastic overestimation of personal sagacity and other capacities is the rule. Such people have seldom actually achieved or even attempted to achieve much and are most often strangers to the kinds of disciplined effort and endurance of discomfort required for real accomplishment. Envy, malice, resentment, self-pity and even hatred are their reactive responses to those they regard as better off or more distinguished than themselves. They spend enormous amounts of emotional energy tearing down, belittling, devaluing and defaming others because this feeds their own urgent need to distinguish and exalt themselves. Without bothering to demonstrate the source of their superior wisdom they simply proclaim and announce their opinions as indisputable truths and decry all who disagree as fools and idiots. Thus we observe posters here and elsewhere proposing themselves the superior in every way of Presidents of the United States and others whose politics they reject. It does not occur to them that such grandiosity in the absence of any but the most subjective and impressionistic evidence actually approaches the bizarre - and would in fact deserve the epithet bizarre if it were not as common as it is in certain circles.
Our teenage know-it-alls of all ages are not modest and have no doubts whatsoever of their personal rectitude and purer than pure motivations. They are quite certain that their hearts are pure and those of their adversaries are stained and tainted by every negative quality, greed being the commonest trait assigned to all who are more prosperous and successful than our puerile heroes and heroines. That they themselves could ever succumb to greed would, if it even occurred to them, seem perfectly absurd.
How do they know what is wrong and what should be done? This question seldom troubles them for their understanding is for them intuitive and self-evident. That their opinions are truths is for them simply too obvious to be denied by any sensible and decent person. Do they understand the world and everything in it? They do. They understand it better than those presently entrusted with managing public affairs. Do they know the right formulas and programs to achieve the best and most just arrangemnt of local, national, international and global affairs? They know this as well and are in a hurry to get to work to set everything to rights.
Are they capable of reflection and true dialectical examination of difficult topics, i.e. of pondering and considering matters from different angles of listening to opposing viewpoints and when necessary accomodating them by revising their own? No. They are not capable of this. They have but the same, single charge in their cannon and when this is fired, there is nothing to do but for them to reload an identical charge and fire again - louder and smellier, perhaps, but essentially the same. This is because the first thought that pops into their heads is there to stay and because they regard themselves as always invariably right in all their opinions about anything and everything.
You are the funniest. You could go toe to toe against any of the mightiest liberal windbags here, and there are a few. But I find your presumption of the keenest insight into the heart, minds, and souls of those you criticize the most ironic. You yourself would fail the very tests you set forth in your screeds.
Why don't you turn off the burning bush and deign to descend from the mountaintop to converse with the unclean.
You might find common cause.
You're right about Obama being for tomorrow's technology. He is, after all, a progressive. Progressives believe in progression, a reasonable evolution from what's less tenable to what's more tenable. That's why he wants to not focus on yesterday's fuel, which is oil, but on the amalgam of tomorrows' fuels.
Now, if only Palin were a conservative. She's for more tax cuts. How many more, I wonder. Five more for the rich? 10 more? However many more, her wish for more, more, more money is a death wish for all of us. The Soviet Union, as you know, fragmented not because Reagan straddled a horse and pretended to be tough, but because it militarily spent itself out of empire, as Bush, via Bush voters, has done. Palin wants more military spending and more borrowing. Pity you. Pity me. Pity all of us, but most of all, pity our grandchildren, for they'll be taxed for the conservatives' sins.
